Stress Busters, Apps for Android to Fight Stress and Anxiety

02.10.2017 by Girl on Fire // Leave a Comment

It seems to be the new normal these days to feel a bit stressed and anxious at certain times, so it makes a lot of sense to find a way to take a break from reality for a few moments and enjoy doing something silly or funny on your phone to lighten the mood.

Stress Busters: Silly Android Apps for Taming the Anxiety Monster Inside You

Here is a look at some sometimes not-so-serious apps that could help you to chill and put a smile back on your face. There is an app that offers a soothing voice to calm your nerves, funny apps to enjoy a lighter moment with, plus other ways to enjoy some quality downtime including a coloring book app and even a way to use your phone for a body massage.

Gently does it

Some apps are very simple but effective and the Stress-Free app is best described in that way.

You get a pre-recorded audio that gives you some instructions on how to relax, preceded by some soothing music that is designed to set the tone and start to bring your heart rate down. It is not entirely obvious why an app like this has managed to achieve so many downloads as it doesn’t do anything complicated.

Perhaps it is the gentle and comforting Scottish voice that is the secret ingredient, but whatever it is, a stress relieving app like this can be a good start to reducing your anxiety levels.

Color me happy

There has been a real surge in demand for adult coloring books and many people suggest that this is a great way to declutter your mind and an enjoyable way to relax.

stress

A good solution if you feel the urge to color something in at any point during the day would be to download the Coloring Book for Me & Mandala app.

This app offers a great variety of coloring pages and helps to recapture those magical childhoods moments when you lose yourself in the enjoyment of coloring intricate patterns and creating a work of art on your phone.

Find time to laugh

Laughter is an excellent way to relieve stress, so have some readymade gags and funny videos at the ready when you download some apps that are designed to let you see the silly and funny side of life.

One app that is enduringly popular is 9gag as it contains millions of funny pictures, viral videos and other things that are all aimed at ensuring you don’t take life too seriously for a few moments at least.

Similar apps to consider are Best Vines which offers a collection of the funniest stuff they could find, plus if you like your humor on the dark side, Cyanide and Happiness is going to be right up your street.

Shiatsu option on your phone

For some of us, one of the best ways to relax is to get a massage.

If you want to try a smartphone alternative that could give you a Swedish or Shiatsu massage amongst the options, the 30 Sec Body Massage app does what it says on the tin.

It uses your vibration option on the phone to deliver a stress-busting 30-second massage. It might not work for everyone, but it is free to download, and it will make you smile either way.

If you want to find a way to bring those anxiety levels down, there is bound to be an app that can help you do that.
