Weird T.V. Shows that I Miss…

01.12.2010 by Girl on Fire // 12 Comments

Some of these that I list you will probably not remember!  Some of favorite shows seemed to quickly fade and slide right off the radar.  The J-man and I were discussing this tonight after a long discussion of the termination of the series Deadwood.  We had borrowed the DVD’s from our friends and he was pissed off to find out there would be no more Deadwood.  I know how he feels.

The shows I am listing below were the weird ones that I loved.  I wonder if any of you loved these as I did.

American Gothic was one of my all time favorite shows. It didn’t last very long and for years and years I thought about it.  A few years back we were able to get the complete series on DVD.  That was an awesome show!  Lucas Black from Sling Blade, was the cute little boy that starred in the series.  Based in a small town in South Carolina the show was of an eerie awesomeness.americangothic

Twin Peaks was another fantastic series that didn’t get very far. David Lynch is a mastermind and the series pulled you right in to see what craziness was going to happen and who killed Laure Palmer.  It was creepy, scary, deep and funny all at the same time.  I have to admit that even though I love David Lynch, sometimes his creations fly right over my head.  I think I over think it all.  Anyhow, if you never watched it…you missed out!  A murder mystery involving a dysfunctional family, some weird characters that cover everything from split personalities, hallucinations, midgets, the supernatural and much more!

Eerie, Indiana, do you remember that one? If you don’t remember, it was about some kids that moved to a small town called Eerie.  They referred to it as the center of weirdness for the universe.  Dude, Elvis lives there!

What were some weird shows that you remember?

I remember all of those shows.

I also remember a show called Nightmare Cafe, it had maybe 10 episodes total. The narrator was the same guy who played Freddy Kruger. Do you remember that one?

Thanks for taking me back in time.

Yea, we got to talking the other night about some of the shows that we enjoyed and didn’t last very long. There are a ton more too! I need to make another post about it. Hey, when I try to click your name to go to your site it is not taking me there. Would you type out the whole URL for me so I can visit you too?

I was wondering if this was good, is it worth purchasing the series on DVD?

I liked it a lot. It was good vs evil and a lot of religious elements thrown in. So if you’re alright with that, I think it’s worth it. Theyy never fibished the series. It ends kind of abruptly and it looks like it could go on by they canceled it.

I loved Deadwood and couldn’t believe it was cancelled. I also loved Rome and that was cancelled. Twin Peaks was one weirdo TV show but I loved it.

My husband has ancestors from Deadwood. We went there a few years back to visit the old homestead and loved it! Awesome place to visit including the old cemetary. It’s literally like stepping back in time.

High school wasn’t my favorite part of life.  Like most kids, the teenage years aren’t the most glamorous of times.  Peer pressure, bullying, social awkwardness, acne (one of the many great parts of growing up!), relationships, homework, and mean teachers might come to mind when you think of your own high school experience.   Nowadays, high […]
