COMMENT 19 is the WINNER!

PocketdoodlesCoverLauren is my artist.  She draws all day long.  She is so creative and talented. Pocket Doodles for Kids is perfect for her.  Pocket Doodles for Kids is a book for kids that encourages them to use their imagination and creativity! A few doodles on a page becomes a face with the right imagination.  It’s a book of prompts!  Some pages will have an image with a prompt to draw in another character or object that fits the image.  There is no wrong answer, only hours of endless fun!

She has blown me away with the concepts she has come up with!  She is only 5!  This is something that I can truly and wholeheartedly recommend to you all!

Pocket Doodles for Kids is authored by Bill Zimmerman. Bill is the author of more than a dozen books for kids and their parents. Pocket Doodles for Kids is 272 pages of fun that is encouraging kids to use their imaginations and express their ideas through writing and drawing.

“Pocket Doodles for Kids” is a compact, 4×6-inch book that uses word and picture prompts to encourage children and their grownups to write, doodle, draw and color, right on the pages of the book. Perfect for backpacks, purses and glove compartments, “Pocket Doodles” is ready to grab whenever and wherever boredom threatens. Illustrated by Tom Bloom, “Pocket Doodles” inspires countless ways to draw and dream. Download and print sample pages for free!

Pocket Doodles for Kids retails for $9.99, at Amazon.com and booksellers nationwide!

Zimmerman enjoyed a successful career as a journalist, prize-winning newspaper editor, and author. He created and edited Newsday’s nationally syndicated Student Briefing Page, which was twice nominated for a Pulitzer, and has pioneered interactive techniques to help young people find their voice and stretch their imaginations. Zimmerman is the author of Doodles & Daydreams: Your Passport for Becoming an Escape Artist; Lunch Box Letters: Writing Notes of Encouragement to Your Children; My Paper Memory Quilt: A Family History Pack; Make Beliefs and How to Tape Instant Oral Biographies.

Zimmerman’s work has been featured on the Today Show, Fox and Friends and PBS’s Ancestor Series, and the New York Times, the Washington Post, USA Today, Parent’s Magazine, Parenting, The Wall Street Journal, Family Circle, and many other publications. My son, Tristan, will dig that site. He draws comics all the time, so I know he’ll love making his own comix.

I added this site to my favorites so I can show my boys tomorrow. They will LOVE it! They already like to make up comics, stories, etc. so being able to do one online will be really fun for them.

This is very cool! Thanks for pointing out this site. My daughter will love creating her own comix strips. And the printout ones for filling in dialog will be fun too.

I’d love a chance to win a copy of Pocket Doodle also. Thanks.
