10.28.2017 by Girl on Fire // Leave a Comment

Do you know that the decoration style of a house has a circulation like the fashion industry? On the one hand, some pieces of furniture also have the expiration. Therefore, you should renovate your house about 10 years.

Remodel a house is not a daunting task when I find an architect for assisting. However, it would become a challenging factor if I want to do it effectively. In this situation, I have to consider a renovation plan as my real business plan or my special project and come up with it carefully.

Fortunately, my close friend is an architect, and he guides me how to remodel my house greatly. If my friend could not help me in this task, I will need to outsource an agent, but the cost will increase as well. Then, he gives me some useful tips to stick on my mind if I need to renovate my house again. Here are a few tips that I want to share with you and others.

Estimate and calculate your budget

Because you want to reduce your budget for renovating a house, you should not miss out this part on your top priority. Estimate and calculate the expenditure for the entire parts and small things such as floor and renovation, carpenters, curtains, types of floors, etc.

Please keep in mind that you should narrow down your budget as much as possible. And do not forget to find pieces of furniture in the reasonable price ranges. Do not miss out its quality when paying attention to the products and materials.

Make your small survey about the piece of furniture on the market

Once you have started your research, you ought to recognize some interesting choices. A high-quality product does not mean it is expensive. For example, a beautiful bed in a luxurious store could have a reasonable price. Thus, you should make your small survey by researching some decorations, paint types and pieces of furniture that you like on a variety of shopping platforms.

Buy products at some local auctions

Renovate a house means that you should buy new products. To reduce the expenditure, you need to find some local auctions and take part in these events. What’s more, you will discover other great home appliances as well. Research the information or asking your neighbors to look up as many auctions as you can.

Change all doors and windows

As doors and windows are the first impression on your house, you should draw attention to these parts. Change or repaint windows and doors if they have old styles. On the one hand, these properties could influence on the lighting of the rooms. House owners should paint the ceilings, doors, windows, and trim which has the same color in a half percent of the lighter.

Whitewash walls

Select a new paint to change its clothes for the walls, but you should pay close attention to the different colors. For me, I choose the white and the black color only. Because I want to create a fancy style and save my budget at the same time.

Decorate a kitchen and storage

With a kitchen, I still keep a kitchen faucet in a fixed place, but I need to change the kitchen cabinet and other storages to make a new cloth. Use recycled materials and the house equipment from the recycling stores.

Use mirrors to expand bigger space in all small rooms

When you have small rooms and you could not buy a new house with larger rooms, then you should use several mirrors to expand the space in these rooms. This is a great technique of a famous architecture comes from London – Mr. John Soane.

Do not forget to the safety factor

Safety is an extremely crucial point for living whether you choose a semi-detached house or a cottage house. If you’re changing things up, now is the perfect time to install some safety measures or house alarms for you to have peace of mind. After all, you can better wire or naturally integrate different safety systems when you’re already pulling up the floorboards or stripping the walls. Some home systems you might want around your property are door and window sensors, wireless security cameras, motion sensors, fire alarm systems with sandblasters included (you can find sandblaster at here), and many more.

Final Thoughts

When I have already shared some helpful tips from my friend, I would have also realized that I need to make a goal for myself clearly. Then, I should paint my whole picture of what I want and need. After that, I undertake my step-by-step parts. I am not an architect or an experienced interior designer, but I still renovate my house economically. So, I think you could do it easily.
