Nestlé Coffee-mate, iPod dock Giveaway!

You all know I love my coffee.  The only thing that makes my coffee better is some awesome creamers.  Nestlé’s Coffee-mate has a huge selection of flavors to choose from.  I love that I can grab something different each week to create the perfect coffee house experience in my own home.

I don’t have the money to go hang out in fancy coffee houses, but I love that coffee house feeling.  When I am working, like right now…I get my iPod set to my favorite songs, stick it in the iPod dock, grab a cup of coffee flavored to my taste of the day and get to work.

Having that nice coffee house atmosphere helps me to work more efficiently and happily.  Heck, if I went to the coffee house I would be complaining about the music as well as the price, so this makes it better all around for everyone!

If I don’t have coffee, then I don’t function!  I must have it!  Yea, my name is Brandy and I am  coffee junkie…what of it?  Oh and a bit of advice for future house guests…please do not get up and try to prepare my coffee because you don’t want to wait on me.  That makes for a very angry Brandy and you wouldn’t like me when I am angry.  Trust me.

Did you know they have recipes on the website?  There is a recipe for Hot Peppermint Mocha Shots that I think I will make for New Years Eve.  It sounds amazingly awesome!

So, my favorites from Coffee-mate are from the Classic Coffeehouse flavors line.  I have been enjoying the White Chocolate Caramel Latte quite often and it fills that need of an expensive tasting fancy coffee.

    I’d love to try the Gingerbread Latte! I’d share the creamers with my coworkers – as a nice change from the bland creamer we have at the office (but it’s a non-profit, so no complaints)!

    My favorite is vanilla caramel, because it is, to me, so versatile. If I want a little more vanilla flavoring, I’ll use a bit of French Vanilla creamer added to it. If I want rich caramel flavoring, I use caramel ice cream topping to bolster the caramel. Sometimes, with either of those, I’ll sprinkle cinnamon & sugar over top. Sometimes, I’ll use whipped topping on top & sprinkle that with cinnamon & sugar. I’ll use plain French Vanilla at times, & sprinkle cocoa on the top (with or without whipped topping). If I really want to get decadent, I’ll sometimes sprinkle cinnamon in bottom, but I always put in vanilla caramel, a little extra caramel ice cream topping, & chocolate syrup for my special, whether or not I use cinnamon.
    I wasn’t able to find the holiday flavors at my commissary; they don’t carry a full line, & their prices are the only ones I can afford. I’ve tried mixing coffee & eggnog; it was an epic failure, so I’m not sure I’d want to try that. And while I’ve tried the competition’s Caramel Macchiato, yours isn’t available where I shop, but I believe the addition of caramel ice cream topping fills the bill.
    In summer, I’ll take the coffee, in concentrated form, & partially freeze it & some of the Coffee Mate, & put the partly-frozen ingredients in a blender with a couple ice cubes, whir in a blender, adding any caramel topping or chocolate syrup (or both) as I go, & top it with whipped topping, cocoa powder, & a few extra swirls of caramel &/or chocolate syrup.
    I try to use a medium roast or Colombian coffee (if it’s on sale) because there is less bitter taste if I freeze it.
    If you have enough ice cube trays & room in your freezer, you can freeze brewed coffee in those, as well as creamer, & get them out to make any size drink you want, adding whatever you need.

    My fave is French Vanilla. We sub it in recipes that call for milk. For example the coffee cake we make using a family cornbread recipe. I also like the Holiday Flavors and often wish they were around a lil’ longer.

    The Peppermint Mocha looks great. Put that with my organic wildlife coffee blend, a homemade cookie and I could almost forget I’m at work and not in a coffee house somewhere.

    I’m not very creative but every winter when the “holiday” flavors come out it feels very special to have a steaming mug of coffee with Gingerbread Latte Coffee-Mate. It’s like Christmas has officially begun!

    I have been using Coffee-Mate for years and have a bottle by my coffee pot at all times.     No matter what flavor creamer, when I have flavored coffeemate creamers I always feel like I’m spoiling myself with coffee house indulgence a little bit. Hazelnut is my favorite flavor.

    I don’t see what’s wrong with good old fashioned non-coffeehouse coffee. I just brew up a pot, add some french vanilla Coffee-mate, and enjoy. Easy Peasy. I’m not terribly interested in new flavors, fancy anything, or baristas, tip jars, or snooty Mac people. Give me a nice cup of coffee with a spash of Coffee-mate and I’m a happy chick. Thanks.

    Hot Peppermint *Irish Whisky* Mocha Shots

    Add a peppermint kick and hint of coffee to your cocoa for a grown-up version of a childhood favorite. This tasty winter warmer is a rich and decadent party pleaser.
    Yield: 6
    Ingredients:
    1 vanilla bean or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    3/4 cup water
    3/4 cup Peppermint Mocha Flavor NESTLÉ COFFEE-MATE Liquid Coffee Creamer
    3 ounces NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® CHOCOLATIER 53% Cacao Dark Chocolate Baking Bar
    3 shots Irish Whisky
    3 shots expresso
    Whipped cream (optional)

    Instructions:
    CUT vanilla bean in half lengthwise. Using back of knife, scrape along inside of vanilla bean to collect seeds.

    HEAT water to boiling in small, heavy-duty saucepan. Add seeds from vanilla bean or vanilla extract; heat for 1 minute. Reduce heat to medium. Add Coffee-mate,chocolate,expresso and whisky; whisk until smooth, slightly thickened and hot.

    DIVIDE mixture between 6 small coffee cups or tall shot glasses; top with dollop of whipped cream. Serve immediately.
