When I Finally Lose My Mind…

03.01.2012 by Girl on Fire // Leave a Comment

You can take me to the PCHTreatment Center.  I’m sure it will happen one day.  I’ll be looney as all toons.  Loony like Elmer Fudd.  PCH stands for Psychological Care & Healing.  Not that I plan on going crazy.  Just saying if it happens.  One of the things that comes along with RSD is depression.  Yes, depression.  Not sure what there is to be depressed about…I mean it is only non stop pain that limits your ability to take part in normal everyday things.  You know like holding a pencil…

For me the depression comes and goes.  I’m pretty good about pulling myself out of it.  I can feel when I am sinking and for a few says I am all boooo hooooo poor me.  But then I’m like…you know what?  I’m alive.  It may not always be something I can control on my own.  Someday I may need help to deal with it all.  I have been on a few anti-depressants, but cost was a factor and I was taking them more to help with the pain than I was to deal with the depression.

PCH has individualized treatment plans that can have up to five individual therapy sessions per week. They also offer group therapies, neurofeedback, DBT and holistic activities including yoga, mindfulness meditation and sleep therapy.  Therapy doesn’t have to just be about more drugs.
