Minimalist in 10 Weeks, Weeks 3 and 4 #Minimalist

01.20.2013 by Girl on Fire // 6 Comments

I missed updating last week on my goal of becoming a minimalist!  Sorry!  So much going on!  Today alone I threw away 5 shopping bags of stuff from my room!  I emptied an entire dresser, that will now go to the curb tomorrow!  I also managed 1 giveaway box from my room as well.  That is JUST today!

My goals for this week are to go through ALL of my fabric and gift some of it to others.  I have a ton of fabric, nice fabric that is perfect for making clothing for little girls.  This is stuff that I used to use to make and sell items in my etsy store.  Some of the cutest prints are stashed away in a dresser in the office.

They have been stashed for over 3 years.  I had hoped that I would have the chance to sew again by getting my RSD under control.  It has not happened yet and honestly I have filled my time with other things that I love even more and do not have the desire to sew for profit anymore.  So this will make someone else happy!

Hey I didn’t realize I was on a campaign, but I’m doing this with you already. Cleaned out two drawers and moved around the china cabinet. Can’t wait to clean out the ‘important documents’ file…:)

LOVE this idea! I really need to do this. I cleaned out my closet a few weeks ago, getting rid on TONS of clothes I no longer wear. Now to work on the rest of my house…

After living in a camper for three months, I have become delightfully more minimalist. I would be thrilled to get rid of tons of stuff from my house, but my family is less enthusiastic. I throw stuff away while they are not looking. 🙂 It’s fun to follow someone else on the same kick.

I wish I can sew. I make up new curse words every attempt I make.

I also need to do this minimalist thing. My bedroom looks like I’m a hoarder (not as bad as the show– at least I tell myself that) and I may have issues letting go of certainthings, like clothes my son no longer fits in. We also live in an itty-bitty apartment so that definitely doesn’t help!

This is great. Now I am motivated to finish going through the garage of death. It’s bad out there…

I have started purging out house. We moved out of the country a few years ago and were down to a storage unit. Scary how much you can accumulate in two years. Trying to purge!

Airwear Lenses

I’ve got new glasses! I have been going without glasses for several years now because I’m not so good about taking care of me.  I hate to spend money.  Well, I got the chance to do a review on some lenses from Airwear!  I used it as an excuse to go get my eyes checked.  […]
