Fun Books For Kids!

08.17.2009 by Girl on Fire // 1 Comment

Cover_op_529x600Reading is very important, I try to encourage it as much as I can.  Sometimes with the little ones you need books that are very eye catching to hold their attention.  Once they take notice they will ask questions about what is on the pages.

Brain Child Press has the perfect eye catching books for your children.  They are highly educational.  The images are very bright and colorful and draw kids right in.  These are all photo images, and not cartoons!  They recognize certain things and tell me what they are.  If they don’t know, then they ask.  The books I have read from Brain Child Press with my girls are:

A Visit to the Farmers’ Market and A Very Purple Pepper: Colors to Know So You Can Grow, both by Peggy Sissel-Phelan, Ed.D..

We also have been using some of the match up cards.  I think all kids love playing this game!  We are using the vegetables set and the girls have fun naming them.  Another thing I love about this company is they offer teaching guides as well.  If you are a homeschooler this is a huge plus!

Brain Child Press, Inc. is a privately held corporation based in Little Rock, Arkansas. We are an independent publisher of children’s nonfiction picture books, related teaching materials, and educational games.

Dr. Peggy Sissel-Phelan founded the company in 2005 to respond to the crises of childhood obesity, poor health, and low literacy in the U.S., and the need for easy-to-read books on topics essential to the development of the whole child.

Brain Child Press gives back!  A percentage of our profits are donated to literacy projects in Arkansas, and particular to Reach Out and Read Arkansas, the new name of AR Well Child READs.

Reading is most definitely one of the most important skills we can teach our kids, and it certainly helps if we have good materials with which to work. Our kids love to read, be read to, and read to us, and we get a lot more chances to enjoy it together through homeschooling. Thanks for your blog and look forward to reading more soon.
