This Friday, April 30th you have yet another chance to get some double votes in for your charities of choice with Giving Made Simple from Sam’s Club. Remember these tweets can be added as entries in my Giving Made Simple giveaway of two $50 Sam’s Club Gift Cards!
I will also let you double your daily entries in the giveaway as well on April 30th! Be sure to comment each entry two times and label them #1 and #2.
Here is some information from Sam’s Club on how these votes will work.
Sam’s Club will double the number of member votes during the Giving Made Simple campaign on April 16 and April 30 when the participating charities can encourage their fans and friends to show their support by tweeting. The organization within each of the two charity categories – Youth Education and Entrepreneurship – with the most Twitter votes on those days will double their member vote totals on those days, getting them closer to winning the top $1 million grant.
Program Rules & Terms:
One vote will be defined as a Twitter update occurring between 12:00 a.m. – 11:59 p.m. CST on April 16 and again between 12:00 a.m. – 11:59 p.m. CST on April 30 that includes an @samsclub reply and incorporates the designated hashtag for one of 8 charities participating in Giving Made Simple. Only one Twitter vote will be counted per Twitter user on April 16 and April 30, including votes from each charity’s official Twitter profiles as well as votes from employees and volunteers of those organizations. Retweets of a charity’s hashtag will count as a vote per unique user.
Charity Hashtags:
o KIVA: #Sams4Kiva
o CFED: #Sams4CFED
o CRF: #Sams4CRFUSA
o ACCION: #Sams4AccionUSA
o JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT: #Sams4JA
o NFTE: #Sams4NFTE
o YMCA: #Sams4YMCA
o GIRLS INC.: #Sams4GirlsInc
- A user will be disqualified from voting if there is any indication that the Twitter profile was created temporarily by an organization or individual for the purpose of securing additional votes. Only Twitter profiles created prior to April 16, 2010 will be eligible to participate in voting through Twitter.
- Twitter votes will be monitored and calculated using Topsy.com and by reviewing @replies to the Sam’s Club Twitter profile.
- Within each of two categories of organizations – Youth Education and Entrepreneurship – the charity that receives the most Twitter votes – or tweets from unique users – will double the number of member votes submitted on the charity’s behalf on April 16. (This process will repeat on April 30, 2010).
- Votes to be doubled will be based on member votes submitted to the samsclub.com Giving Made Simple page [www.samsclub.com/giving] between 12:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. CST on April 16. (This process will repeat on April 30, 2010)
- Because Twitter posts cannot be collected and counted with 100% accuracy, individual Twitter votes for each charity will be tabulated within a 1 percent margin of error.
- Should two or more charities tie for first place within each of their charity categories (within a 1 percent margin of error), member votes for April 16 will be doubled for each. (This process will repeat on April 30, 2010)
All votes submitted through Twitter must follow Twitter’s posted policies and Rules
Be sure to get those tweets going on April 30th to help your favorite charities get a bigger chunk of that 4 Million!
