Hello! My name is Brandy and I live in Shady Shores, Texas. I have been blogging for around 13 years now, Not So Average Mama is an eclectic blog. That means…I do what I want haha!
I have 3 amazing little girls (well, Morgan is not that little anymore she is an adult now!) that are the most rockin’ kids I have ever known. The girls play Jr. Roller Derby and I used to help train Jr. Roller Derby skaters. I also used to skate with a Roller Derby Rec team. Sadly, I can no longer participate as my ability to walk has deteriorated.
My Husband is the best man that I could ever hope to meet. He is an amazing Father, Husband, and Musician. He plays in a Texas band called HIT & RUN and you should really go check them out.
I used to be a tattoo artist and body piercer until I got sick. It took 3 years to get diagnosed. I have a condition called RSD (now referred to as CRPS) which is a chronic neurological disease. There is no cure for RSD. I also have Dystonia and some other fun little things. I can’t do a lot of the things I used to, but life goes on right? You adjust, suck it up and fake it. Thankfully I have an amazing family. After investigating my health history we traced back the start of this nightmare to an accident I had when I was about 13yrs old.
I still do some work as a photographer, but as my RSD has progressed, it has become difficult to maintain the photography business at a full-time level. You can view my photography on my Loudmouth Photography Facebook Page.
We used to keep a small farm with goats and chickens, but again…due to illness, this was no longer possible.
I’m currently raising funds for a Mobility Service Dog that will hopefully keep me going without a wheelchair a bit longer! I have a deposit down on a future litter for a Great Dane. The litter is planned for about 5 mo from now. I also have to raise the funds for service dog training through an owner training program locally.
The total I need to raise is about $7,000 still.
