Working Hard and Getting Sore! Hot-Cold Pack #RSDsucks

01.20.2013 by Girl on Fire // Leave a Comment

RSD (also known as CRPS) sucks.  It hurts to live this way, but there is a key word there.  LIVE.  I live!  I am alive!  I am not dying.  That pain sucks, but it also lets me know that I am still kickin’!

I can choose to dwell on that pain or let it fire me up.  I choose to let that burning pain fire me up in a good way.  So I have been working hard on this weight loss and getting in shape, but I sure do pay for it.

The only thing that helps me even a teeny bit is heat!  I love when bedtime comes and I can climb into my bed with my electric blanket turned up high.  But during the day that is not an option.  Today I saw a pretty cool Groupon, for an item that I think would be helpful for me on a daily basis.

Cold doesn’t help me, but heat is awesome. The Groupon is $19 for a Nature Creation Knee and Elbow Hot-Cold Pack ($49.99 List Price). Four Colors Available. Free Shipping.  I could totally use that on my arms as well!

Nature Creation Knee and Elbow Hot-Cold Pack

This versatile pack helps alleviate pain in the elbows or knees caused by sports injuries, arthritis, or enthusiastic knee-reflex testing. Depending on the ailment, the pack can be moistened and gently heated or chilled. The therapeutic device further relaxes wearers with an aromatherapy interior, with nine natural herbs including chamomile, peppermint, and rosemary. A cotton exterior removes for easy machine washing, and like the Pledge of Allegiance, the pack is made in the USA.

  • Helps alleviate pain in knee or elbow from injuries or arthritis
  • Two velcro straps keep pack secure during hokey-pokey heats
  • Filled with nine natural herbs to promote relaxation

  • 100% cotton, machine-washable exterior

So yea, I got germs on the mind. Especially now that I have a child fighting something right now.  Emma came down with a fever last night and I’m not feeling so hot myself!
