Why You Need A Hobby!

04.11.2018 by Girl on Fire // Leave a Comment

We’re humans, and by nature, we are prone to like a habit. It keeps us feeling secure and comfortable. Having said that, those same habits also end up becoming boring because they drain us from any kind of excitement in life, as everything is predictable – where’s the fun in that? It’s important that sometimes you allow yourself to step outside of routine and get out of your comfort zone, otherwise, you’ll be living a mundane and rather stressful life forever. Hobbies are an excellent way to break through the mold.  Read on for why you need a hobby…

hobby

Here are all the reasons why you should adopt one.

Learn new things

Remember that with choosing a hobby, comes learning a brand new skill that you may have never imagined you could do before. There are so many things that you will become faced with, but that’s the fun of it, you will figure out ways on how to improve and do even better than you did yesterday. You may even be lead down a path that opens your eyes and sways you to completely change career and begin a new chapter in your life entirely.

Boost your confidence

When a challenge or obstacle blocks your path, you can either back down and give up, or face it head on and smash through whatever is in your way. This is essentially a test, and when overcoming something that feels difficult, your confidence will rise higher than ever because you did it! Solving problems and staying motivated and driven is such a rewarding experience that will go towards helping you get through all of life’s tough moments.

Meet new faces

If you pick up a hobby that interests you, take playing an instrument for example, after learning some basic tunes from musician authority, you will come across other like-minded people that share all the same styles of music as you. Being socially connected is something that you should thrive for, because being isolated is something that can have a serious negative impact on your overall mental health.

Sparks your creativity

When doing something that you have a real passion for, you will find that your mind begins to think in new ways that you aren’t used to. You will start to see things differently, or use your hands with more purpose that you once did. Hobbies that make use of active imagination are tabletop games and playing video games. If you want a more physical approach to these creative hobbies, LARP is something you should look into. Your mind becomes a creative vessel that disperses ideas throughout the day. A lot of the time a regular nine to five job doesn’t require you to be creative, you merely do what is asked of you. But now you have a new skill, you can reevaluate your worth.

Clear your mind

When you’re lost doing something that you absolutely love, your mind isn’t able to focus on negative thoughts or bad vibes – you’ll be far too occupied for any of that. When you get stuck into something that brings you joy, all the other stresses in your current life will fade away and become nonexistent because none of them no longer matter, you don’t have to worry about them anymore. Instead, you get to be at peace for however long you need to be.
