When I was a younger me, I skated. I loved it. I was never fantastic, but I always tried. My husband too skated, although he was much better than me. He has been talking about skating again, which I think is cool…I just worry about the whole breaking a hip thing at our age.
Well, we decided to be young again and bring on the broken hips. Seriously though, Lauren is really interested in skateboarding so we went to Walmart to check out the Shaun White Skateboards.
They had a pallet set up near the toy section that was dedicated to the Shaun White Supply Co products. That covers boards, pads, helmets, etc.

I was a little shocked that the display was so bare. There was not very much to choose from, but Lauren was still able to find one she liked. The graphics on the Shaun White Skateboards were definitely better than the rest of the Skateboards for kids that Walmart had. Actually there wasn’t many other skateboards in the store at all. I’m not sure if they had just been wiped out recently, or maybe they are just not stocking many.
So, Lauren chose the a Shaun White Thrash board, it was very affordable!
Jeremy said he felt that the deck was of pretty good quality. He did mention that he would like to get better trucks and wheels for her eventually though. The deck was a hit though.
Now daddy has not been on a skateboard in MANY years, but check this out…

She’s a natural! She did so well and was so proud and confident!
#ShaunWhiteSupplyCo was a great opportunity for my family. We are not your typical family with typical choices in recreation. My oldest daughter skates Roller Derby and I will be as well in October! Yes, my crippled butt is starting Roller Derby! Skateboarding is something that I enjoyed as a young girl and I think it is awesome that Lauren is taking it up. It is something that her and her daddy can spend time together doing. It is so important to find things that you can enjoy with your family!

It is so great all the kids and both parents always seem to find things to do together and are not afraid to try anything new. You got guts to do the Roller Derby with your poor body. Good luck, I know you will be great on wheels!
