Moms are not allowed to get sick! Or if we do, we better convince ourselves real quick that we are ok because we are the care takers of everyone else. There is no time for us to get sick! I try to everything I can to stay healthy so that I can care for the family. I also do my best to ensure that they stay well also. Being sick interferes in our fun, we don’t need anything interfering in our fun.
Some of the things we do to keep from getting sick are:
- Washing hands
- Eating healthy
- Take GSE
- Take Vitamin C
- Stay away from people that are ill
Seriously, those things work! If someone is sick, I kindly ask them to stay away. Maybe that is mean, but I have enough health issues as it is. I don’t need to catch your funk. Thank you very much, but you can keep it for yourself ::smile::. Honestly though, we choose to stay healthy, so for the most part we do.
There are somethings I do that some people may think is extreme, for instance…we do not use indoor play facilities. You know, the kind you find in your local fast food joints. Those are just a germ breeding ground and are filthy. It is easy for us to avoid the temptation though because we don’t tend to frequent those sorts of places.
Another thing is we don’t take medicines that we do not need. We only use medicine and antibiotics when absolutely necessary. In my opinion this keeps us with a healthy working immune system. It also ensures that medicines work when we do need to use them because we have not overused them. Does that make sense? I hope so, because this is how antibiotic resistant strains of illness are created. Quit over medicating people! Let your body do it’s job. I am not a doctor, this is just what works for us.
When I do happen to get sick, I am thankful that there are wonderful medicines out there that I can take so that I can continue to function the best I can. This is important because I have a family that depends on me.
Did you know that the #1 pharmacist recommended brand for adult cough/cold/flu relief is Vicks DayQuil and Vicks NyQuil? I have used NyQuil for many, many years and then when DayQuil came out, it was a wonderful! It’s great to have relief without being tired. Vicks DayQuil Cold & Flu Relief helps ease five symptoms of a cold – aches, fever, sore throat, stuffy head and cough. Then at night the NyQuil helps me get more rest, which is important when you are sick. NyQuil Cold & Flu Relief help relieve symptoms by suppressing the urge to cough, reducing a fever, alleviating minor aches and pains, and relieving sneezing and runny nose. This is the brand I turn to when I am so sick that I need medication. You can learn more about Vicks by visiting the Vicks website.
When trying any new medication, make sure to check with your doctor and also to follow the proper recommended course of treatment. It is also important to note that DayQuil & Nyquil is not recommended for children younger than 12. Please be sure to consult your physician before giving DayQuil & NyQuil to children.
I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Vicks DayQuil & NyQuil. I received product samples and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
