I’ve never been a blingy, glammy or any kind of fashionable type person. T-shirts, jeans, hoodies….plain jewelry and rings was as far as I went. Now that I am getting older I look at pretty things and kind get a twinge. I’ve especially grown to like rings more than I have ever before. Necklaces and Bracelets irritate me too much with my CRPS/RSD. Rings have never bothered me. My body however reacts to cheap jewelry. I get green fingers and hives. I guess caused by an allergy to certain materials in the ring. I have tried coating them with nail polish….doesn’t seem to help.
Right now I wear a very plain wedding band. I picked it out, just something simple. I thought about prettier rings, but all I could think about was losing the diamond from the setting, losing the ring, slicing myself open, etc. I guess you could say I worry too much. Now though, I want a pretty ring. I really like Vatche rings. The rings are beautiful, yet still simple enough for someone like me to enjoy. Check them out http://www.whiteflash.com/vatche . I love this one shown in the photo. I like that it is oval shaped and look at the cool rope design detail on the band! Isn’t it pretty? I know this would be an engagement ring, but I could wear it anyhow right? The ring is custom made for each order at Whiteflash. They take about 20 days to be finished. I love custom things. If you are going to spend money on jewelry, you are wise to choose quality items that can be passed down. I would also love to have a mothers ring with each of my girls birthstones.
There are a lot of choices though! How do you decide?? Tell me, how long did it take you to decide on a ring? Or were you just surprised by your husband? Honestly, if you were surprised, were you happy with the choice he made? Or do you wish you had picked it out yourself? I think I would definitely prefer to pick it out myself. Jeremy would be lost in a jewelry store. He wouldn’t know where to begin!
My oldest daughter’s birthstone is a Diamond. One of these rings would be such a nice gift for her when she is older. Nothing over the top or course, but a simple diamond ring. When she was baby she received a little tiny diamond ring as a gift, of course she just wore it in photos since it was baby sized!
Whiteflash is based in Sugar Land, Texas. I like the idea of supporting a local Texas company too. From reading about them, it seems they are a small company with a staff of about 30. They are also rated A+ with the Better Business Bureau which makes me feel better about possibly ordering from them in the future. If you are in the Houston area, maybe you could check out their showroom. Houston is a bit far for me, but maybe if I am ever in the area I could swing by.
