As a mom of a girl that has already entered this phase of puberty I am glad that I had her prepared for it before it happened.
My mom did the same for me, she made sure I knew about everything that was going to happen with my body way before it did. That way there were no scary surprises.
My mom wasn’t so lucky. No one told her about what would happen, so when it did it totally freaked her out. Imagine starting your period and not having a clue what is happening and then someone giving you a pad and a belt (yea this was before the adhesive moderns day pads have.) “Here put this on!”. Really? That’s it?
Had I not read all the books and talked to my mom I would have totally thought I was dying.
Things are so much better these days. So many choices, no belts! Wooohooo!
U By Kotex Clean Wear Pads, Click Tampons and barely there liners totally appeal to girls, young and old alike!
This new line of products feature a slim, thinner design, making them easier and more comfortable to use. They are packaged in this cool black box and each pad is individually wrapped in brightly colored wrappers. Even the tampons are colored. The boxes do not look like any other box of menstrual products. This helps the girls to not be embarrassed putting them in the cart. No one would guess they were pads or tampons! When I buy disposable pads, Kotex is the brand I trust and use for myself and Morgan.
We all know that periods are not fun and we definitely don’t look forward to them each month. It’s a fact of life though. All we can do is relax about it and be aware of what is going on with our bodies. Cool products to use can make it easier on a girl.
You can find out more about U By Kotex by clicking here. You can get some free samples and download a fun Daily Journal iPhone or iTouch application that lets you take pictures, add play lists and geo-target your location for each entry.
Morgan thinks they are totally cool and so do I.
The commercials are hilarious! This one below is our favorite!
I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Kotex and received products necessary to facilitate my candid review. In addition, Mom Central sent me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.

And… you can find coupons in the paper for U by Kotex and then get them at CVS while getting back Extra Care Bucks to use towards other stuff. This week they are $4.99 but you get $4.99 back in bucks. I had $1 off coupon, so it was $3.99 and I got the $4.99 back. So I got paid to buy some tampons. 😉
