Running a business is a lot of responsibility. Small and Large, they all require hard work and dedication. There will be ups and downs throughout the time you own your business. Thankfully there are a lot of great resources, tools, and knowledge that can be easily found on the internet.
Back in the day, it was a lot harder to find the info you need. Now you can log on to the computer and find others to talk to that may have been through a problem you are currently facing.
There is software for pretty much anything you need. Invoice systems, timesheets, shareable spreadsheets, documents, plug-ins to make your website work for you and even data management services like Profisee (you can check out Profisee, here!). All of these tools behind can get you up and running proficiently in no time!
Don’t get me wrong, it is still hard. It takes dedication and a leap of faith. But with all of the things available you have a greater chance of success for any business that you choose to start.
We are small businesses ourselves. I write for my blog, other blogs, and I am a photographer. My husband is a custom cabinet and furniture builder. I also encourage my children to start and run their own businesses. My oldest daughter Morgan ran several successful business ventures. Currently, she is in college and who knows where she will go from there. Maybe start her own business as a young adult?
It is amazing the types of businesses you can start and run these days from your home. You only need a computer and an internet connection! People run entire shops online without ever laying hands on in house stock! You do not have to own a storefront to run an online boutique! Craziness. The things we thought were so futuristic are here at our fingertips. I never thought that I could be chronically ill and bedridden somedays, yet still be able to work from home.
In fact, I am looking into adding some other home businesses to take the place of my photography income since it is so hard to get out and about to photoshoots. With some time and dedication, I am sure I can find the right business for me and have all of the tools I need right here on the internet.
I’m hoping to do more backend stuff for other people. Like data entry, editing photos, social media management, etc. Something easy that I can even do on my bad days. I’m not really interested in selling anything where I have to constantly bother my friends to help me keep going. I would rather provide services instead.
So how about you? Do you have a home business? How did you choose? What are your go-to tools for running and managing it easily? Any tips to share for my readers that may be looking to start something new?
All in all, you get out of it what you put into it. Work hard and don’t give up with things get hard. Dedication is key!
