Tips for Beating Spring Sickness! Pfizer Pediatric Platform Product Giveaway!

Tips for Beating Spring Sickness

This has been the worst spring ever for us!  I feel like each time we get over some crud we feel better for maybe 2 days and it hits us again.  My youngest two have been struggling the most.  Emma has an on and off again cough that makes night time hard.  So let’s talk about tips for beating spring sickness!

The Pfizer Pediatric Platform products, information, and additional gift pack have been provided by Pfizer Consumer Healthcare. All thoughts and reviews are my own.

We try to be as natural as we can in treatments at our house.  We do some things to boost our immune systems and I can not even imagine how much worse this season would be had we not done these things.  I see kids coming down with some horrible illnesses right now and I am thankful that we are only struggling with some coughing, sneezing, and headaches.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C can be found in citrus fruits like oranges, lemons, and limes.  Green and red peppers, as well as green leafy vegetables, are also a good source of vitamin c.  Tomato juice and raw tomatoes and even broccoli.  My kid’s favorites are cantaloupes, strawberries, and tomatoes!  When it comes to getting the most from these sources, eat them raw.

Sleep

Getting enough sleep is so important to good health.  I struggle with this because my illness prevents me from getting good sleep.  But it has been proven time and time again, that when we let our bodies get run down we pay for it.  So make sure your children are getting plenty of sleep.

Other Immune System Boosters

It would take ages to go over everything you can do to boost your immune system, but here are a few other things we do.  Proper nutrition, exercise, multi-vitamins, downtime, garlic and even spicy foods.

When They Do Get Sick

Sometimes we need a little more help to get through.  The Pfizer Pediatric Platform of children’s products can be found at Target as well as other stores local to you.  Pfizer products are also available on Target.com.

These products are formulated just for kids!

Robitussin

The  Children’s Robitussin® DM Day/Night Pack (Children’s Robitussin® Cough & Chest Congestion and Children’s Robitussin® Nighttime Cough) non-drowsy daytime formula helps break up chest congestion, while the long-acting nighttime formula relieves coughs and runny noses to help kids get the rest they need.  Emma has been fighting a cough off and on and we really have had to depend on this to help her get some rest and help her to get that chest congestion broken up.

Dimetap

Children’s Dimetapp® Cold & Cough helps a child with a stuffy and runny nose and also helps to relieve a cough.  Dimetapp® is something that I even took as a child.  I still use it for myself as well as an adult.

advil

Fevers are not always a bad thing.  In fact, it means that your body is fighting.  But when those fevers start climbing, you need to get them under control.  We do cool baths, minimal clothing, popsicles, water, etc…but sometimes you need medicine.  Children’s Advil® works for kids ages 2 and up.  They even offer sugar-free and dye-free varieties.   You can also purchase the Infants’ Advil® White Grape for kids ages 6-23 mo.  Not only is it a great fever reducer, it can also help with aches and pains from injuries and teething as well as headaches.

*It is important to remember to always read and keep the cartons for complete warnings and dosing information on Pfizer Pediatric Platform products and to use as directed.

Learn more by visiting the Sick just got real™ website, as well as the Sick just got real™ Facebook page.  These Pfizer products are available on Target.com.

My best tip to stay healthy is to practice good hand washing, especially before eating. We also try to get plenty of sleep & drink a lot of water.
