Time for Polo Shirt, T-shirts and Oxford shirt for summer
It’s a timeless classic, so it’s not surprising that a good quality polo shirts can make or break your summer wardrobe. Go too cheap, and you’ll end up with a t-shirt that looks great the first time you wear it, but ends up pulled and baggy once it’s been through the wash; but if you don’t have the cash for a high-end designer t-shirt, you need to spend a bit of time choosing the right one for you.
You might not think you need to waste much time buying a t-shirt and in most cases, you would be spot on. There are, after all, better things to do with your time than go shopping – especially for something that is in every store in town. However, t-shirts do vary in a number of ways – from the quality of the fabric to the overall cut and style – and this can affect the way you look.
Are you a skinny t-shirt person or a baggy t-shirt person? Fitted tees can look great and are fantastic for layering under knitwear, shirts or jackets. This can be really useful heading into spring and summer, as the weather becomes warmer during the day, but chills down quickly at night. Wear a skinny, pristine t-shirt and then easily and stylishly cover it up with a soft, lightweight oxford shirt. If baggy is more your style, you’ll need to make sure you have something equally roomy, like a hoody, to wear over the top.
100% cotton is the way to go if you want your t-shirt to last. This might sound luxurious, but actually, it’s extremely affordable, because t-shirts are pretty simple to make. That means, whether you’re choosing pure white, or a coloured tee, you can find it in good quality cotton that’s going to feel great when you wear it and always be comfortable. The other clear advantage of 100% cotton is that it will retain its shape and its look over time, so you’ll always feel like you’re wearing something brand new.
This summer, it’s all about colour, so be brave and go for t-shirts that are bright and bold. They are perfect for wearing with neutral jeans or shorts, or layering under muted knitwear to just give a flash of colour when you need it. And whether you’re shopping in town or online, you’ll find it easy to find great-looking, great-quality t-shirts at a price you can afford.
