Time for a Family Computer?

10.01.2010 by Girl on Fire // 1 Comment

I hate to say it, but I think it is time for a family computer.  I have my laptop that I do all of my work on.  Jeremy has my old desk top and Morgan has a Netbook.  Lauren and Emma do not have a computer available to them yet.  Occasionally I do let Lauren use my Laptop, but I don’t want to load it up with all the software I would like them to be using.

I’m thinking a desktop computer would be a good idea for this Christmas.  I could set it up on my desk and let them use it for fun learning activities and games.  I could use a Dell coupon from Savings.com.  I seen a great one for 20% off.   They actually have a pretty good selection of coupons for technology items.  I don’t want to spend a fortune, but I want a good system that can tolerate some learning kiddos.

They have so much more available now then they did when Morgan was little and in order to be on target with today’s learning you pretty much need to be computer savvy and it makes sense to start them young.  Maybe not Emma as much as Lauren who is 6 now.  I’ll keep watching the prices and also keep my eye on the Savings.com site so that I don’t miss a killer deal!

I am thinking of buying a family computer soon too. Right now my daughter uses my laptop to play games which makes me think of spyware on my computer which is no good.
