Amazingly Thoughtful Gift Ideas for the Man in Your Life

07.27.2015 by Girl on Fire // Leave a Comment

We all have that one prominent man in our life. It may be a family member, it may be your spouse. It may just be a really good friend. These are the men who make us feel special and loved. Which means that we should also make them feel special and loved. Especially when it comes to big days, such as birthdays and anniversaries. People say it’s the thought that counts when it comes to gift giving. What that in mind, I’ve put together some amazingly thoughtful gift ideas for that important man in your life.

Picture Perfect

They say that men are less sentimental than women. I beg to differ! If you buy the man in your life something sentimental then I’m willing to bet you see a tear in their eye. Picture presents are some of the best ways to appeal to their nostalgic side. You could give them something small, like a key ring. Alternatively, surprise them with a canvas featuring your favorite family photo. If they don’t well up in front of you, they will in secret. This is such a thoughtful gift and is sure to make them smile.

Hampers

Okay, so most hampers are entirely impersonal and not exactly a thoughtful gift idea. However, if you make your own, then you can ensure that it’s a genuinely special gift. Make a note of all their favourite things. It could be the food they love to snack on. It could be their favourite bathroom products. Perhaps it’s a certain band or film director. Now, head to the shops and buy lots of little gifts. You don’t want to focus on just one type, like food or toiletries. Go the whole hog and buy them one of everything. Some food, some drink, some toiletries, some films, some CDs. Put it all together in one giant wicker basket and hand it over. They’ll be surprised how much you know about them.

A Timepiece

There’s no denying that watches are one of the most thoughtful presents you can get a man. It says so much! You’re showing him you know what kind of style he likes. You’re letting him know you love spending time with him. What could be better? There are so many different watches to choose from too. From Shinola’s black watches to a Rolex. If you’re feeling really soppy, see if you can get it engraved on the back. Going that extra mile is what counts.

An Experience

The last thoughtful idea isn’t something you can hand over as such. Giving the man in your life an experience he’ll never forget is a genuinely unique gift. One that he’ll be able to cherish forever. There are places where you can buy vouchers or coupons for things such as track or adventure days. Alternatively, take him on a day trip somewhere special. If you’re feeling flush, a weekend city break could be just what he needs.

Have any of these ideas given you food for thought? Buying a thoughtful present is all about working out what you know that person loves. Then giving it to them in a unique way. Not just wrapping up a DVD and being done with it. Which idea will you be trying for his next big day?

Getting Wicked Fresh with Tom’s of Maine

I feel good about using the products from Tom’s Of Maine for my family. I feel good because I feel safe knowing they are not getting mouths full of chemicals. It’s scary that we have to worry about this in everything we come across on a daily basis. What’s ok, what’s not…it’s all very confusing. Unless of course you stick with a brand like Tom’s of Miane that is free of these chemicals.
