Thank you, Brandy, for allowing me to share my story with your wonderful followers so that I can have their votes and support along my journey to a healthier life.  You have such a giving/caring heart, and I love you dearly for all that you do.  You’re wonderful and a great inspiration of strength, courage, and triumph for me and others.

Before I begin, please watch my Mamavation Application Video

On April 4, 2010, my husband and I made the HUGE decision to live a more healthy life for the sake of our family.  It’s the best decision we’ve made in our 9 years of marriage.  On that day, I weighed in as 266 pounds, and Andy weighed in at 274 pounds.  Since then, I have lost 23 pounds, and Andy has lost 20! My short term goal is to lost 50 pounds by Christmas (hence my blog name www.50in8.com – 50 pounds in 8 months). Our long term goal is to both lose enough weight to make up ONE WHOLE person as we are now.  We’re looking to lose at least 250 pounds combined!

We started our journey as one that was strictly to lose weight, however, we know that we can’t lose weight without changing our lives!  We realized that we can’t expect our kids to grow up to be healthy, fit individuals, if we can’t lead by a GOOD example.  Therefore, we’ve started down the road to a better life for our entire family, and with the help of the wonderful leaders and members of Mamavation, we’ve stayed motivated and on track with our goals!  Mamavation has been such a wonderful part of our lives, and I’m so excited to apply to be one of the Campaign #5 Mamavation Moms!  Am I scared of what Leah Segedie (founder of Mamavation.com) will have me doing in this bootcamp?  HECK YEAH!  But..  it’s such a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I am so happy that Lori – @gutimom – introduced me to Mamavation so that I can have the opportunity to change our lives forever.

What is Mamavation?
You’re in for a real treat!  Mamavation™ is a social experiment and weight loss campaign in social media with the goals of teaching moms healthy living lifestyle choices so they can share with their family. Mamavation™ is a two part campaign: (1) a virtual healthy living boot camp for two moms and (2) the home of the first virtual healthy living sorority in social media, the Sistahood™ .

As a healthy living bootcamp, Mamavation™ is an opportunity for two moms (Mamavation™ Moms) to change their lives together by entering into a 7 week healthy living boot camp created to give them the tools they need to succeed.

The founder of Mamavation, Leah Segedie lost 170 pounds by changing her life, and we are so thankful that she started this wonderful website to give those of us who need all the support we can get a place to go and simply be motivated.  I firmly believe that a HUGE part of succeeding is support.  Without the support of these women at Mamavation.com, I would have quit weeks ago!

I’ve been suffering a lot lately.  We are having a lot of rain and while that is great for my garden, it sucks for me.  Rainy weather seems to be a major trigger in my pain levels.  Right now I have tears as  I type this post.  I want to just curl up in a […]
