This post brought to you by Walmart. All opinions are 100% mine.
We are truly trying to have a healthier lifestyle! I try to make sure that I keep healthy foods and snacks on hand for us and the kids. The healthier I eat, the better I feel. The junkier I eat, the junkier I feel. I guess you truly are what you eat.
Exercise is another important part of healthy living. I seriously need to get a bike soon so that I can ride as soon as it warms up again. Winter has officially hit Texas.
The Walmart Foundation can really help! They have announced 9.6 Million in grants to National Organizations to help families be more healthy.
These grants will help with nutrition education, cooking demonstrations and even classes to help people learn to shop and eat healthier on a budget. They have even brought in Dr. Ro, an award winning journalist that you may have seen on Dr. Oz! Dr. Ro will help us learn to eat healthy on a budget. I think we all could use that help right?
I’m so excited to read that one of the grants is for the National 4-H Council! The grant says
$1.35 million to deliver healthy living education to 40,000 youth in 15 states through Youth Voice: Youth Choice program. State councils will also be encouraged to develop healthy living action plans to combat unhealthy eating habits.
We have a great love for the 4-H program! 4-H is a great choice for this grant!
So what have you done (or plan to do) to get your family a bit more healthy this year?
