I really don’t have anything more to tell you than I had before. After speaking to the Neurologist she ordered a bunch of lab work. She needs the lab work to compare to somethings that were found on my CAT scan and MRI. She also wrote me an RX to help with my headaches. She said it would take a few days to get into my system. She also said to start with one pill for the first 2 weeks and then move up to 2 pills.
After leaving her office I felt more confused and upset. I went in there hoping for answers and I should have known it would not be that easy. I feel like I wasted $200 to just get told I need more tests. Oh well, it has to be done. I stopped my the Lab to see just how much the lab work would cost…ugh around $550! So, I’ll have to wait til next Friday to get those done.
I picked up my RX from Walmart and it only cost $8.00. I took the little pill right before I was ready to go bed. I thought I would lay in bed for a bit and read. About 15 minutes later I was out cold. I was dead to the world. Today I am sluggish and unmotivated. I have a lot to do and y’all that I need to do things for are just going to have to hang in there. I’m not being this way on purpose. I truly want to function at 100%.
So, no answers as of yet. I did learn somethings though. This totally could be Fibromyalgia and the headaches could be caused from the pain I have on a daily basis. It could also be Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, Vitamin B-12 Deficiency among a thousand other things. The labs will tell her a lot more about what is happening in my body and brain. Once we get an answer we can begin treating or taking care of the problem.
One of the things found on my CAT Scan and MRI are signs of a condition called osmotic demyelination. I’m not quite sure what it means. I tried googling it but the things I read I am just like durrrrr and the drool begins. I’m trying to avoid Dr. Google and wait for answers from my Doctor.

Do not google, that will only stress you more trying to figure out the jibberish medical terminology. You will be fine once they figure this all out. Lack of B-12 can mess up your whole system so hopefully it is something they can deal with pretty easy. Hang in there kiddo. luv ya

I agree, stay away from Dr. Google! So sorry you have to go through more testing. Still keeping you in my thoughts and prayers:) Hang in there, if you need to rest…do it and don’t feel guilty for it!
Sounds like the Doctor will probably be checking you for hyponatremia (low blood sodium salts).
Sometimes people end up with low blood sodium salts because they have something wrong with the pituitary gland in the brain, or something wrong with the adrenal glands that sit above the kidneys.
Diabetes Insipidus (hope I’m spelling it right) causes low blood sodium that might in some rare instances possibly lead to osmotic demyelination.
Diabetes Insipidus is not Diabetes Mellitus (sugar diabetes).
My Dad had Diabetes Insipidus and had to take a hormone replacement. I think it’s in the form of a nasal spray now.
If it is Diabetes Insipidus I think the name of the hormone replacement is arginine Vasopressin AVP which is also known as antidiuretic hormone (ADH).
My Dad actually had a small non-cancerous tumor on his pituitary gland in the brain. They never operated on his because of a blood vessel thing near by it that they didn’t want to mess around with.
I knew a nurse once that had Diabetes Insipidus and they did remove the small tumor that was non-cancerous that was on her pituitary gland and then she didn’t have headaches and dizziness anymore, but did have to still take a low dose of the hormone.
I’m wondering though if it has something to do with your hypothalamus in your brain. The hypothalamus links the nervous system to the endocrine system through the pituitary gland,
it kinda tells the pituitary gland to release it’s hormones, especially the ones regulating blood salts.
If something is wrong with the hypothalamus you may not have a normal thirst response and not feel thirsty like you should and actually get dehydrated.
