The Kia Sportage, a Not So Techie Review

01.19.2013 by Girl on Fire // 10 Comments

So far I have really enjoyed all of the Kia cars I have driven.  I would be happy to own any of them, especially the Kia Sorento!  The Kia Sportage is another fantastic car!

Here is the fantastic red Kia Sportage that I drove for 7 days!  My kids loved it, look closely and you can see that Emma can not contain her excitement!Kia Sportage

Kia Sportage
The Kia Sportage was described to me by the Kia people as the Sorento’s little cousin.  I can totally see why.  It still has a ton of room, but does not feature the 3rd row seating that the Sorento has.  Even without the 3rd row seating option there is plenty of room for my family of 5 to travel most comfortably.

It has a lot of get up and go!  Comparing it to the Suburban, this is so much easier to get out into busy traffic in.  It goes when you want it to go!

Now, out of all the Kia’s I have driven, I have enjoyed the interior of the Kia Sportage the best.  It is set up nicely and looks great!  I have to say that this is an ideal family car, especially if you like to go out and do things…like camping, travel, etc.

I am very much in love with Kia right now. I would be happy to own one of these cars, especially the Kia Sorento or Kia Sportage, as I feel they would work best for my family with the way they are set up, room as well as being 4 wheel drive.

Thank you Kia, once again for letting us drive this awesome car to see what we thought of it.

All opinions are my own and no compensation was received.

Good review. I own a 2005 Sportage. It’s paid off, has 106k miles on it and still runs great. They’ve changed the body style with this newer model, but when the time comes I’ll most likely still give this one a test drive. It has enough room for friends and for my camera gear and light stands in back.

Thorpe! Have you driven the Sorento? Sorento would be my first choice because I LOVE that pull up 3rd row seating. Sportage is definitely a second choice. Both great cars!!!

The Sorento was just a little big and excess for single me. lol The Sportage was just perfect. If i had a family to tote around, i could see the appeal of the Sorento though. 🙂

What a great, sporty looking vehicle and that look on your daughter’s face is priceless. I love the shifter on it. (It’s the little things, right?)

Such a gorgeous car! It looks like there is a great amount of storage space in the back for traveling.

What a great review–I’ve never read too much about a Kia–didn’t know they had such cute looking cars and all those features. Thanks for sharing 🙂

    I have a Kia Sportage, but it’s an ’07.

    It doesn’t look like this.

    I wish it did. *sigh*

I have always been a GM person but after reading all the reviews of the Kia’s you have shared with your fans, I would love to have one. Great looking cars and SUV’s, which I have always preferred. They have all the room needed and safety crash ratings are really great. Thanks for all the pics and great info.

We test drove the Sorento and I LOVED it! I’d like to try this one too, as a family of 4, it might fit us better. Thanks for the review!
