Like most women, I struggle with my weight. I bounce back and forth…up and down and all over the place. It’s super frustrating. I don’t overeat and I don’t really make horrible food choices either…or so I thought. I was wrong, I do make bad food choices.
My biggest problem is not eating enough. I pretty much drink coffee all day long and I wonder why I am not losing weight. Every cup of coffee I drink is doctored up with sugar or a fancy creamer. I don’t even think about it and all that really ads up to a lot of wasted calories! Not the proper things needed to full my body. I really am starting to pay attention to what I put in my body these days though. Little changes one at a time.
According to the Report of the 2010 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee, 95% of Americans do not get enough whole grain. I am part of that 95%. It can be remedied so easily too! Every Big G cereal contains at least 8 grams of whole grain per serving, with more than 20 Big G cereals delivering 16 grams or more. (At least 48 grams of whole grain are recommended daily.) A diet high in whole grain has been found to help with diabetes and weight management, and may help reduce the risk of heart disease and certain cancers. This is something that I really need to work on. It’s scary to admit, but I am at risk of developing diabetes.
I actually like cereal, so this should be easy for me…I just didn’t realize that it could be that easy!
One thing that I think that I was naive about is that weight management is more than just watching calories, it’s also important to ensure I’m getting enough of the right stuff. The stuff my body needs to work properly.

The book has a lot of great information in it. Easy changes that I am working on making. I need to work on making those healthier choices. Just like the soda thing above. If I cut out even half of my coffee I would probably drop that 4lbs in a week!
