Terrible Tweens?

11.20.2009 by Girl on Fire // 2 Comments

Holy cow, am I gonna live through this? Right now I really don’t feel like I am gonna make it through.  If I do, will I make it through the next one?  What about the one after that?  3 girls…is this karma for my behavior?  I don’t think I was that bad of a kid.  I graduated highschool, I didn’t get knocked up.  I don’t remember being that mouthy to my mom, but maybe I was?

Don’t get me wrong, my kids are by no means “bad kids”. It’s just some recent disrespect and not listening that is the problem.  The only reason any of the girls get in trouble is because of their mouths.

Roll-Raffle-TicketsWe just started a new system in our home, a ticket system.  This is brilliant!  The kids get a set number of tickets to start with.  When they are not listening and acting up I start taking tickets away!  They can also earn more tickets by completing extra tasks.  I made each of the girls a shoe box with their name on it to store tickets in.  I’m in the process of collecting goodies for the prize box.  This will have cash in it as well.  Morgan will most likely want to trade tickets for cash.  So far it is working well and the little ones are eager to earn tickets!  Last night Emma and Lauren earned extra tickets by helping to pick up the living room.  Morgan earned extra tickets for a huge meal she prepared.

I hope this helps out, I will also be using the tickets as ways to go do fun things as well.  I’ll let y’all know how we’re doing with it in a week or so.

If you have more ideas to use along with this system please share them!!!!
