Wow, I am feeling extra old! It seems like only a few years ago that Sweet Home Alabama came out. But no, it was 10 years ago! To celebrate the 10 year anniversary, they have re-released it on Blu-ray in a special anniversary addition!
If you have never watched this movie before, then I definitely recommend it. Definitely a chic flic!
Melanie Carmichael, an up and rising fashion designer in New York, has gotten almost everything she wished for since she was little. She has a great career and the JFK-like fiancée of New York City. But when he proposes to her, she doesn’tforget about her family back down South. More importantly, her husband backthere, who refuses to divorce her ever since she sent divorce papers seven years ago. To set matters straight, she decides to go to the south quick and make him sign the papers. When things don’t turn out the way she planned them, she realizes that what she had before in the south was far more perfect than the life she had in New York City.
Starring an all grown up Reese Witherspoon from one of my favorite movies, Freeway! As well as Patrick Dempsey and Josh Lucas.
I have to admit that this is not normally my kind of movie, I like to watch movies with my husband and I can tell you right now, he wouldn’t watch this. It was pretty tore up when reviewed by the critics, but honestly…I liked it. I think it’s worth watching and it was worth watching again. It’s not a favorite that I could watch once a year, but it is a cute movie that would perfect for a movie night with the girls.
