We all know the importance of exercise. It gives us the strength and endurance we need to manage our day to day tasks, boosts immunity and protects us from all kinds of preventable illnesses. But when it’s cold outside, it’s easy to slack off. Instead of walking five minutes to the shop you probably find yourself hopping in the car, instead of your morning run or evening gym session you find yourself hiding under the duvet instead. However, in summer, you have no excuse. When it’s beautiful weather outside you should be up and about, being active and having fun in the process. Here are a few perfect workouts for the warmer months.
Hikes and Bike Rides

Whether you live near beaches and caves, meadows and rivers, woods or parks, pack up a picnic and set out for the day. Even if you live in a city, you could take a walk around and do some window shopping in the process! If you’re going to do this, it could be worth checking out brands like Alfred Dunner clothing, as they have sportswear pieces that still have quite a casual look to them. Low-intensity exercise such as cycling and walking is great for burning fat stores so perfect if you’re looking to lose weight while being easy on your joints. You can go as hard or easy as you like depending on your moods, goals or fitness levels. But being out and about is the perfect way to use your body and get some exercise in, particularly when it’s nice outside.

The beach provides plenty of opportunities to exercise, and where else would you want to be on a beautiful summers day? You could play beach volleyball or jog on the sand. You could find a store selling or hiring watersports equipment such as surf and paddleboards, scuba diving equipment and wetsuits. You could practice yoga and stretch while watching the sun disappear into the water. It’s far more pleasant that hitting the sweaty, crowded gym!
Casual Activities
It doesn’t have to be structured and planned for it to count as good exercise. Kicking a ball around at the park with kids or throwing a frisbee, setting up a casual game of rounders with friends- it all gets you moving and exercising. Best of all you’ll be making memories and too busy having fun for it to even feel like a workout. You could go paintballing or laser tag, even climb a tree!
