Moms! Stop Doing Everything Yourself!
Are you a supermom? If you’re bringing up kids, keeping them safe and keeping a roof over their head, then yes! If you’re juggling this alongside a career, then yes! Whether you’ve got one kid or a brood of half a dozen, your life is sure to be a busy one. However, it could well be time to stop trying to do everything yourself. From the school run to the food shopping, here are some tasks you can pass along.
This post is a submitted guest post.
Stop washing up, get the kids involved
It may well be the case that not only do you cook most of the meals your family devours, but you wash up afterward too!! This, however, is just one job that you get your kids involved in unless they were very young. Young kids should be kept away from the sharp cutlery and washing machine chemicals, of course. However, once they are old enough, this can be their domain. Have them take it in turns, or do it on alternate nights. You could even make a game out of it, where they time themselves to beat their personal best! Or motivate kids by letting them pick their own dinner one night a week once they have done a minimum amount of washing up!
Start grocery shopping online
If you still do your grocery shopping in person, it’s definitely time to stop! Online grocery shopping is now where it’s at! Save fuel and time that you’d usually use driving there and back. Most stores also offer free delivery if you spend a minimum amount, so you don’t have to spend any extra. They’ll even let you pick a delivery time when you’ll actually be in the house!
Leave the car, hire a taxi
If doing the school run is already keeping you in the car all the time, you’ll be reluctant to drive the rest of the time. Treat yourself by getting a taxi occasionally. This is preferable to taking a bus on certain errands, for sure. Take shopping, or running errands for example. Having a place to store your bags while you’re out of the house will come in really useful. Some taxi companies will offer you a better price if you book with them regularly. Don’t forget that the arrival of Uber has also shaken up the market recently, forcing some companies to readjust their prices
Put down the Hoover, hire a cleaner
If you haven’t yet tried house cleaning services, your life is about to change! Using a cleaner is not as expensive as you might think. It can also free you up to take on more important tasks. Perhaps you need to stay later at work one day, or have an important cello performance to attend at school! Whatever the reason, having somebody else do your house cleaning means you don’t have too.
We all know that cleaners clean, but do you realize some of the other benefits of having one? If you have a teenager with a bit of a smelly bedroom, they can help get rid of bad odors. Not to mention they are likely to have specialized equipment and chemicals to clean the difficult things, like your cooker.
