03.23.2018 by Girl on Fire // Leave a Comment

If you are thinking of decluttering the house to take advantage of the Spring months, there are many ways for you to do this, but while you are at it, have you thought about doing a Spring clean in terms of yourself? Now, this may sound a bit odd, but in terms of cleaning the house, you are decluttering, but are there some things you can benefit from decluttering in life in general? So, if you are thinking about making a few changes in your life, especially around the house, why don’t you take advantage of the moment and Spring clean your house and Spring clean yourself?! And what are the best ways to do this?

Give your house a makeover

Seeing as you’re decluttering the home, why don’t you look at what your home can benefit from to make it easier to declutter in the future? For example, does your home use up a lot of energy? If so, installing energy efficient materials, such as insulation in the loft, or doing some window tinting, is going to decrease the amount of energy your HVAC system needs to cool down the house. In addition to this, if you have carpet everywhere, consider ripping it up and replacing it with hardwood floors. Not only will this make cleaning the home easier, especially if you’ve got pets, it will also be far easier to maintain.

Do effective life admin

Decluttering your home is one thing, but can you declutter your finances? If you’re paying over the odds for your electricity and gas, isn’t it time to find a cheaper supplier? In addition to this, if you’re struggling month to month as far as your finances are concerned, are you making the most of your overall spending habits? If you’re buying expensive shopping items from one store when it could be cheaper somewhere else, doesn’t it makes sense to sit down and go over your finances to make sure that you are spending efficiently? Also, look at your own personal spending habits, such as if you eat lunch out every day instead of taking a packed lunch?

Spring clean your diet

And on the topic of lunch, Spring cleaning your diet could be just what the doctor ordered. Now, as it is being shown that obesity is fast becoming the leading cause of cancer, going over your own diet, and making a few basic changes will be a good start. The big problem that people have when it comes to changing their diet completely is that they change it too much, so they end up falling back onto what they know and love. Instead, don’t consider it as a diet, consider it a lifestyle change.

Set up some new goals

And as you are changing your home, is it worth setting up a few goals for yourself? They don’t have to be epic plans, they can just be a few simple changes. From your diet, to aiming to walk a little bit more, and so forth.

Seeing as you are Spring cleaning your home, why don’t you start to Spring clean your life as well?
