Spin into Action with another SIMPLE Service Project! #SpinbrushCFK #Cbias

07.24.2012 by Girl on Fire // 2 Comments

I’m so excited to be participating in yet another Champions for Kids SIMPLE Service Project!  This time it is with Arm & Hammer and of course my favorite people at Collective Bias!  They always have great service projects that you can do as a family.  Be sure to keep up with them by following them on Twitter @Champions4Kids as well as the Champions for Kids Facebook page.

So the focus for this project is oral care.  Did you know that over 19% of children ages 2-19 have untreated cavities?  I was really sad to hear that tooth decay remains one of the most common diseases of childhood.  Hitting kids living in poverty the most.  The pain can make it hard for them to chew and eat properly.

As a person that has a lot of tooth problems cause by my health, I know how tough it can be when your teeth are messed up.  It is embarrassing.

This Champions for Kids, SIMPLE Service Project wants us all to help get kids in need some tools to help them take care of their teeth.

Today Emma and I headed over to Walmart to pick up something that we could donate.  You can view our shopping trip on my Google+  I have a bunch of toothpaste here at home that I can donate.  But I wanted to pick up one of those fancy Arm & Hammer Spinbrushes!  I found a super cool one that a older kid would love!  It is called the Globrush.  It lights up and changes colors.  It stays lit for a full two minutes, this can help a child know when they have brushed long enough.

I will be donating this ultra cool toothbrush as well as some of my toothpaste stash to our local church that provides food and personal care to families in need.  I will be posting an update soon about the project.  I hope you will follow along with #SpinbrushCFK.

There were a ton to choose from, even some for little kids.  I just felt one for older kids would be better.  People tend to forget about the older kids when making donations.

I even picked up some of these fancy spinning brushes for me and the husband.  We always get them for the kids, but I haven’t had one for myself in some time.  I chose to get the one that was targeted for Sensitive teeth.  One more me and one for Jeremy.

You can learn more about these toothbrushes by liking the Sprinbrush/Arm&Hammer Facebook page as well as following them on Twitter @sprinbrush.

Traveling with Children, Yikes!

I’m not the brightest girl in the world when it comes to planning trips.  I keep planning trips all the way to the east coast from Texas.  Just me and 3 children! The first time is when I flew from Dallas to Savannah with a 4mo old, a 2 yr old and an 8 yr […]
