As many of you know, I had the pleasure of traveling to Hollywood to do some interviews surrounding the new movie “Gnomeo & Juliet“. I had an amazing time and for me some once in a lifetime experiences. One of those experiences was interviewing Elton John. There were a group of 20 of us bloggers there.
During the actual interview I wasn’t able to get a question in. But after the interview we were able to get a group photo taken with Elton John. I happened to be standing right next to him…this was my chance to ask what I really wanted to know. During the interview time it was supposed to be all about Gnomeo & Juliet and I will be posting that interview as soon as I receive the transcribed version. This question I had was nothing about the movie, but about parenting decisions.
You may or may not know that Elton John became a father via surrogacy on Christmas Day 2010. At the Dallas airport before catching my plane I noticed a magazine with Elton John, partner David Furnish with their new baby Zachary. Of course I bought it to read on the flight out. This article was all about their new baby. But it didn’t answer my questions. I was a little annoyed that no one thought to ask them this question, really I was…I need to see who wrote that article.
I know most of my readers who are a lot like me would love to know!!!
I asked Elton John if he was cloth diapering Zachary. He looked at me a second and then replied “Well, we use proper nappies.” I knew immediately that had to be a yes, but to be sure that I did not give false information I had him clarify for me what exactly “proper nappies” were. I asked, so are they reusable or do you throw them away. He said “Well they’re proper nappies, cloth”. You know how awesome I thought that was? Celebrities cloth diapering. Wow…Elton John cloth diapers his son!
It get’s better…
After seeing how important this sort of thing was to me, Elton then informed me that Baby Zachary is thriving off of an awesome diet of Breastmilk!
Go Elton!
Disney flew me out to Hollywood for this once in a lifetime event. All expenses (such as travel and accommodations) while in Hollywood were covered by Disney. I received no compensation for my posts and all opinions posted are my own. Photos included in this post were taken by one of the best PR Reps ever, Marshall from Disney!

I didn’t think it was possible for me to like Elton John anymore than I already do, but that makes me like him even more! 😀
BTW, this post was really cute–thanks for making me smile today–I needed that.
Two men bringing up a baby. Sorry, but nothing in the world can make that natural, or normal.
