Some Abnormal Labs…

04.08.2010 by Girl on Fire // 8 Comments

Yesterday I missed a call and had a voicemail from the PA to the Neurologist. Her message said that I needed to come in so the doctor could go over some borderline abnormal results on some of my labs.  The word some is what get’s to me.  Not one, some…

I called and made an appointment for next Friday.  She didn’t sound like it was urgent or anything in the message, so I am assuming it is nothing really bad.

I’m hoping maybe I am just lacking B-12 and I can take a shot and be all better.  Who knows though.  It could be a number of little things just hitting me in a bad way.

The pain could still be a fibromyalgia thing and the other symptoms just stemming off of it.  The only part that doesn’t fit into that scenario is the abnormal things that were found on my CAT scan and MRI.

I wish I understood medical terminology better.  All I know is that next Friday I have to shell out another $200…

Last night I moved up to 50mg on the meds, double what I was taking before.  This morning was a little rough going at first, but not too bad.  Hopefully I get used to the change very fast.

So that is my little update on the health issues.  Thanks for all the well wishes!  I’m trying to catch up on commenting back.

Well, I would think if there was anything at all alarming, they wouldn’t want to wait a week to see you–so try not to think bad thoughts. (Easy for me to say–right?) I have been sending lots of good thoughts your way as you work through your health issues.

I am a medical technologist who has spent quite a few years working in hospital labs. There are many, many lab results that are “borderline abnormal.” In fact, it seems there are very few lab reports that go out on a patient where every single test falls into the “normal” range.
