Show Your Helping Hand with Hamburger Helper and Tim McGraw! Giveaway!

12.17.2010 by Girl on Fire //

When I choose to support an organization I always choose those that help America.  We have people struggling in our own country that need help and that is where our focus should be.  Did you know that about 5.7 million different people receive emergency food assistance from Feeding America in any given week? The need is even greater than that.

I’ll be honest and say that my family has had to use a food bank before.  Sometimes times get so bad and I am thankful that there are organizations out there to help.   Morgan and I even volunteer at the local food banks to give back everytime we can.  Morgan has even organized her own food drive as a community service project with 4H.

Hamburger Helper wants to help and they have partnered with GRAMMY® Award-winning singer, songwriter and actor Tim McGraw to make a difference.  They want to help Feeding America deliver millions of meals to local food banks through the Show Your Helping HandTM campaign.

Tim McGraw is lending his voice to the campaign in a Public Service Announcement which will be distributed nationwide.  You can view it right here by clicking play on the video below.

How you can help

You can help support the campaign by submitting the codes from specially marked boxes of Hamburger Helper at www.showyourhelpinghand.com or by logging on and making a donation.

Hamburger Helper has already donated more than half a million dollars and will contribute up to an additional $100,000 to Feeding America through this program.  Hamburger Helper is giving 17 cents from each code entered.  This is enough for Feeding America to deliver one meal to a local food bank.  Wow!

The Giveaway!

One Not So Average Mama reader will win a box of Hamburger Helper skillet meals, a Hamburger Helper foam “Helping Hand” and a copy of Tim McGraw’s “Southern Voice” CD.

Main Entry:  Tell me how you will encourage your friends and family to submit codes and join the Hamburger Helper/Feeding America fight against hunger?  Leave a comment letting me know.

Bonus Entries:  You must complete the main entry before doing any of the bonus entries.  Leave a separate comment for each entry.
