Services and Solutions for People with Disabilities

02.22.2013 by Girl on Fire // Leave a Comment

This post brought to you by NMEDA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Do you or someone you care for have a disability?  I am constantly thinking of the future.  My RSD could take much more away from me anytime.  Literally over night.  There may be a time that I can not fake it as well and do have to depend on help.  There may be a time where I even need to use a wheel chair.  I of course will try my hardest to prevent it from coming to that, but you never know what the future holds.  NMEDA_LOGO

Have you heard of NMEDA?  Be sure to visit the NMEDA website for more info after reading this post.  NMEDA is a non-profit trade association of mobility equipment dealers, manufacturers, driver rehabilitation specialists and other professionals that are improving transportation options for those with disabilities.

The Quality Assurance Program (QAP) is a recognized accreditation program for the mobility equipment industry. The purpose of the program is to promote quality, safety, and reliability within the industry.  You can visit a NMEDA QAP (Quality Assurance Program) Dealer for mobility solutions.  Today I learned that the QAP is the only program like it that has been developed for the mobility equipment industry.  Screen shot 2012-09-06 at 7.14.25 PM

All NMEDA QAP dealers offer 24 hour local emergency assistance.  That is fantastic!  I think it is very important for those that need a wheelchair to have a wheelchair accessible vehicle.  A vehicle that can meet their needs as an individual or family is very important to make sure that they can get around to do the things they need to do easily.  I know that if the time for a wheelchair comes for me that I want a vehicle that can make my life with a wheelchair a bit easier.
