I totally DID meet Santino Fontana! He was the voice of Hans in the new Disney movie Frozen! If you still haven’t made it out to see the movie, you MUST! I have been watching the rave reviews of all of my friends on Facebook and Twitter and it is a hit with kids and parents! I have read many posts where people are saying this is their all time favorite Disney movie now! So while I was in California, Santino Fontana took time out from his vacation from Cinderella on Broadway to come visit with us for a bit! There was a lot that we talked about that would totally spoil a big part of the movie if you haven’t watched it yet, so I am going to skip over the spoilers! I hate spoilers!

When asked what it was like to play an animated role, Santino said…
It’s pretty great. It’s pretty liberating…it’s kind of the freest sense of, you know, when I wanted to be an actor. I always think of like trying to get to the place of the floor is lava, that feeling of like you’re a little kid. You’re just playing like ah, the ground is lava. If I can get to that place of finding like here’s what I’m playing like a kid…it’s pretty thrilling.
And the great thing about animation is you’re not limited by anything physical or even logical. You know what I mean? You can totally be, you know, in a place of nothing but imagination.
When asked what he thought about the character Anna…
I like Anna a lot…I like Elsa, no, there’s too much going on there. [LAUGHING.] That is too complicated. I’m sure there’s someone out there for her, but I don’t know who. I mean, you’ve got the magic stuff and then she’s got some emotional stuff, you know. She’s not that eager to look into it. Um, but I like her, but I’d want to be friends with her out of fear that she would like make me freeze…
So just how did Santino start his Broadway career? Was he in elementary productions? We wanted to know…
Yes, I was…I forced my family to do a Thanksgiving play in our garage, and I was the turkey in pre-school. I also played baseball. I mean, I was a big baseball player. I loved baseball,…I always did both…I always liked bringing people together and telling a story that kind of united them…but I don’t think as a preschooler I thought ah, I want to be an actor.
We asked Santino to sing for us and he declined….but he did tweet to us later…
Dear mommy bloggers @DisneyAnimation today, Sorry I couldn’t sing this morning, will you except this in exchange? http://t.co/FAsTaTSsIe

What a cool experience! I’m crazy about Frozen. After seeing it the second time in 3D it’s moved up the ranks to my current favorite Disney movie. High praise!
How super fun, our family LOVED Frozen. In fact funny enough, my daughter and I are headed out to go see it a second time in 3d this afternoon! Loved the insights into the movie characters!

That is SO awesome!! We haven’t seen this one yet, but I’m dying to go…I have to convince my son to go with me. He wants to see a dinosaur movie that’s coming out, but I want to see this instead!
