If you are a regular reader here, then you would know that I have a neurological disease called CRPS, sometimes still called RSD. CRPS is a very painful disease. It normally starts in one area, but can spread throughout the body. Lucky me has it full body. My worst area is my upper right arm. I choose not to rely on pain meds and instead focus on food and exercise. For me, that exercise is Roller Derby.
Falling down is part of the sport and it happens more often than I would like it to. But more than anything, it is my right elbow pad that gives me the most irritation. It triggers my pain levels to fly sky high. I used to use Salonpas patches to stick on when it was very bothersome to me. It didn’t take my pain away, but it was soothing and distracting.
Recently I was able to try the new Salonpas Deep Relieving Gel. This is a more intense sensation and I have decided that this is now my chosen tool for getting through some of that pain. For someone that does not have CRPS, I can see this being great for just everyday aches and pains. Even over exertion of your muscles after a good workout. Just be sure to wash your hands thoroughly before touching your mouth, nose or eyes….lol!
My girls have even used it after a particularly brutal Roller Derby practice on their aches and pains. It’s a winner!
Salonpas Deep Relieving Gel contains three active ingredients: camphor (3.1%), menthol (10%), and methyl salicylate (15%). The gel penetrates deep and can provide effective relief for up to 8 hours. It’s very easy to use and apply. It is clear, non-greasy and you can feel it within seconds of application.
I received a sample of Salonpas Deel Relieving Gel to try out for myself. NO compensation was received and all opinions are my own.
