Safeskin Team Apparel Sponsorship on PearUp Check it Out! #spon #RollerDerby #SafeskinSports

07.28.2014 by Girl on Fire // 23 Comments

My girls are very involved in Jr. Roller Derby.  Skating is part of their life in a very positive way.  Have you ever watched Roller Derby?  What about Jr. Roller Derby?  These kids are amazing athletes.  They are even headed to Florida next week to attend Jr. Con.  Once there they will participate in extra training, try out for the Jr. World Cup team and even participate in the Jr. Roller Derby Championship!  This is the only sport I know of that accepts and encourages everyone.  Right now we are earning a team apparel sponsorship with Safeskin by using PearUp.

I am really excited about this program.  Pear is a social engagement platform that helps groups and teams (like The Rolling Rebellion) earn sponsorships from brands.  Guess what?  It’s free.  See, Pear matches the groups or teams with sponsors.  It’s super simple on our end.  We just have to complete some very simple tasks and the points add up and the dollar amount rises.

Safeskin Youth Sports Wraps is sponsoring to youth sports teams across the country by providing funds toward the purchase of team apparel.  We are earning this sponsorship to have team shirts made!  A lot of people do not even know that Jr. Roller Derby exists.  So that makes it hard for sponsors to know that we need them!  Pear fills that gap by uniting sponsors with teams and groups in need of sponsorship.  I am just so amazed at how simple this is!  I have been trying for a long time to find sponsors for The Rolling Rebellion.  Now that search just paid off!

So basically, Pear is the middle man.  I am the group leader and I simply spread the word through my social media connections like Facebook and Twitter.  Each group can earn up to $1,000 toward team apparel within a 10 day time frame.  All I need you to do is complete some simple tasks.  Tasks such as liking Safeskin on Facebook, tweeting or uploading a photo.  Super simple things that can be completed in a matter of minutes.  The more tasks that are completed, the more money our team earns!

At the end of the 10 day period, I can claim an online certificate for the amount earned through the sponsorship.  My goal for our team is the full $1000 and I know I can do it with your help!  The online certificate will be redeemable at any Pear printer.  Did I mention it is completely free to participate?  You can create your own Pear for your child’s sports team!  If you do, please share your Pear in the comments to get support from other readers.

Check out this video to learn more!

The fine print:

Group award (credit toward custom t-shirts or other custom apparel) valid at any participating Pear printer partner, Requires application of 3″x 4″ Proudly sponsored by + brand logo on apparel alongside your custom design (it looks good!).  Limit one sponsorship/award per group; no cash value.  Adult sports teams (participants 19 years of age and older) are subject to cancellation.

While this is a sponsored post and I was compensated by Global Influence, all opinions are 100% my own and I am thrilled to learn so much about this amazing program!

This sounds like a great program. Getting connected with sponsorships seems like a challenging thing and this sounds like it makes it much easier!

Very cool! I don’t know if we have a Jr Roller Derby around here, but I bet my daughter would love to try when she is a little older. I remember how expensive team gear and uniforms were. Love hearing about this!

I think roller derby is so cool. I know there’s a league somewhere local, but no junior league. I always thought it would be cool to a be a roller girl!

I have seen Pear before but have not yet had an opportunity to use the service. It seems like a great idea; a win win for everyone involved.

What a wonderful program! I loved roller and in-line skating as a kid. I’ve been wanting to join a roller derby for some time now, but my mom and husband are afraid of me getting hurt. ~lol~

This is such a wonderful idea! So much safer than door to door fundraising, and far less uncomfortable than having to go to friends and family or sending mom and dad to ask co-workers.
Good luck to your girls at Jr. Con!

Love that your daughter’s involved in Roller Derby, it’s such an awesome sport! And I’ve never heard of Pear but definitely taking notes now for if any of our sport leagues or kid groups need to fundraise.

What a great sport for your girls to be involved in! I have adult friends who play roller derby and I know how demanding it is. They LOVE it thought, which is ultimately what matters, whatever you choose to do. PEAR sounds like a fabulous program and one I’m going to look into for our school as well. Best of luck with your fundraiser and congrats to your girls for their commitment to their team 🙂

What an amazing resource for smaller leagues and teams that wouldn’t otherwise have access to direct sponsorships! By the way, I think your girls rock!
