Rekindle The Romance In Your Relationship Right Now!

03.05.2018 by Girl on Fire // Leave a Comment

You’re reading this because you’re in a relationship that feels like it’s going nowhere. Normally, this happens when two people have been together for a long time, and you’ve just gotten used to one another. So much so that it’s hard to really feel the same passion you had when you first started dating.

Don’t worry if your relationship is in this phase, it’s a normal thing that most relationships go through. Often, it happens because you maybe took things too fast in the beginning and you’re on a natural comedown after a few years of craziness. Other times it happens because you had children and started a family, meaning you have to settle down into your new life, which can damage the romance a little bit.

The good news is, that romantic fire is still in there somewhere. It’s just a tiny little ember right now, but you can easily relight it, and rekindle the romance in your relationship. Read my suggestions, and try them out right away to get the fire roaring once more!

Bring Back Date Night

Remember when you started dating for the first time and you always used to go on dates? Then life kind of got in the way, and you haven’t been on a date in years! Dates seem cheesy, but they’re such a great way of spending one-on-one time with your other half. I think they’ll really help spark some romance in your relationship once again.

Yes, I know that most people live busy lives, which is normally your excuse for not going on dates. However, I think it’s a bit of a stupid excuse. As it shows here, there are loads of different date ideas you can choose from. Not all of them require you to spend hours away from home, so time isn’t really an excuse anymore. If kids are your excuse, then there’s always a babysitter or family members that can look after them for you. Go on a date every week, and you’ll soon rekindle your love with one another, trust me!

Go For A New Look

Sometimes, you can put some passion back into things by changing the way you look. I find this works a lot for couples who have been in a relationship for years, and have had children. It gets to a point where the two of you just don’t really bother with the appearance that much, and you’re comfortable just looking the same every day. While there’s nothing inherently wrong with that, it doesn’t really do much on the passion-o-meter.

Instead, giving yourself a new look can work wonders. It just switches things up and can make your partner look at you differently. Often, all it takes is something simple, like a change in hairstyle. There are loads of different styles out there, as you can see here, the aptly named ‘shag’ hairstyle is very popular at the moment. It’s a sexy look that can really add some extra spice to your love life. Especially if you’ve been wearing your hair long for years and years, it will have an immediate impact. Likewise, changing your hair color is a good idea, or switching back to the hairstyle you had when you first started dating. Something as simple as a change of look goes a long way.

Spend The Weekend Together

Some people think that a good way to rekindle the romance is to spend time away from one another. The theory is that, if you truly love one another, then this time apart will make you realize what you’re missing, and you’ll return with a fiery passion the likes of which you’ve never seen before. I don’t like this idea, I think spending time together is the best way to rekindle your love. And, what better way to do it than with a weekend alone.

Most people fall out of love because they have children and never get time alone anymore. A lovely weekend getaway is a perfect way to refresh your hearts and feel like new lovers again. At the very least, it gives you time to talk with one another about your relationship, something you’ve probably not done. It’s like a holiday and counselling session all rolled into one, and you’ll return home hand in hand, feeling so in love once more.

Two main points to take away from this post. One; it’s normal to experience a lull in your relationship after many years with one another. Two; it’s easy to relight the fire inside you both, and rekindle the romance that’s been hiding lately.
