Raising a Healthy and Happy Family

05.22.2019 by Girl on Fire // Leave a Comment

Family is one of the things that can make life worth living, and when you have people that depend on you every day, it can motivate you to work harder and aspire for more. One of the things you want to do is make sure your family is healthy and able to live quality lives. This is something that takes a conscious effort and consistency, which can be difficult to develop. However, to keep illnesses and sickness away, being healthy is one of your best bets. Below you’ll discover how you can raise a healthy and happy family.

Develop Healthy Habits

healthy

The starting point for good health is developing healthy habits. Think about what habits you and your family currently have when it comes to health and separate them into good and bad ones. For the bad habits, try and brainstorm healthy alternatives that you could gradually adopt.

healthy food

Food: Your eating habits will have a big impact on your health, so evaluate what you consume every day. Pay attention to things like how much oil you’re eating, what your salt intake is like, and how many fruits and veggies are going into your meals.

Fitness: Aside from what’s been mentioned, fitness is another area where you should develop positive habits. Get accustomed to being conscious about moving your body and doing physical activities. This is the perfect opportunity for you to bond with your loved ones and spend quality time with one another. Make family fitness a family tradition that you look forward to.

Look After Yourself

As the caretaker in your home, it’s crucial that you look after yourself. Think about what your needs are and what gets in the way of you meeting them. If you find you’re not feeling like yourself and battling with alcohol abuse, you should think about contacting Forward Recovery. Remember, if you aren’t in a healthy state, it could be hard to keep your family healthy.

Talk About Health

Having discussions about health with your family could help you stick to healthy habits when you understand why you need to be healthy, and what the benefits are, you’re likely to make more progress.

Watch health documentaries together and discuss the benefits of the different meals that you eat. You can also take turns introducing new healthy foods and expanding your taste pallets in the process.

Solidify Your Bond

Creating a strong bond within your family can help keep everyone happy and healthy. Deep connections are something that everyone needs, as it makes them feel as though they are loved and belong. Here are a few ways that you can solidify the bond between one another.

  • Explore Together: Taking the time out to explore with your family can help solidify your bond. This is because you’re creating new memories and learning more about each other in the process. Go on family trips, visit museums, or try new cuisines together.
  • Communicate Honestly: If you can’t be honest with anyone else, you should be able to do so with your family. Practice honest communication and make it a rule to talk often and respectfully. By doing so, you create a level of intimacy that makes your bond unbreakable.

My 12 yr old, Busted by the Cops!

If you live in Lake Dallas, Texas, you better be sure your children do not play.  If they play…as in wrestle, tackle or anything physical they could be busted by the Lake Dallas police.  No rough housing!  Apparently wrestling around is considered fighting and is a crime here.
