Survivors are encouraged to submit a video to Pure-E-Commerece’s YouTube site or an essay via email sharing the story of how they have thrived after disease, tragedy or other life-changing event. Surviving and thriving are both subjects Pure-Ecommerce.com CEO Jennifer Varner knows something about. Varner’s husband was diagnosed with cancer just three weeks after their wedding. Not long after, while her husband was undergoing treatment, Varner discovered she was pregnant. The young family beat the odds and beat cancer and Varner went on to launch a successful Internet business.

Ten years later, Varner was again pregnant when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She endured two surgeries and chemotherapy, fighting for her life while waiting for her baby to be born. Her son Kilian was born healthy, and both mother and baby proved that they would not only survive, but thrive.
