Project Arrowhead Kids CAN Make a Difference

09.04.2009 by Girl on Fire // 10 Comments

morgans_hairYou all know that we are active in Denton County 4H.  After many recent trips to our local park at the lake, Morgan has decided she wants to make a difference.  Arrowhead Park at Lake Lewisville in Hickory Creek is TRASHED.  She wants to change this.  She already sent an email out to the Mayor of Hickory Creek.

She could really use your support and we could really use some company sponsors on this.  She sent an email to GLAD today to see about sponsorship with them in providing garbage bags.  We also need sponsors to provide food, snacks and drinks! Sponsors to provide work gloves, since it is littered with trash and glass!  Rubber gloves will not cut it.  We are also looking for a sponsor to provide a digital camera and or video camera to document the project!

She will be doing this as a leadership project as well as community service.  We will be setting up her website over the next week, where she will be posting about the goals and progress of this project.  I’m super proud of her for taking on such a huge project! If you are local and want to be involved please let us know!  If you want to donate anything to help, such as goods or money just let us know!

Thanks so much for any support you can give her on this huge project!

Have you looked into having Arrowhead water sponsor you as well, because of the park’s name. Just a thought, maybe they will at least donate some water or something.

She is such a wonderful girl……thinking once again of others and trying to make a difference. We are so proud of Morgan. She should be the “Hometown Hero” for taking on such a big project. Wish we were close so we could help her with this task.
