More and more people are leaning towards producing as much of their own food as they can. I think that is great! But are you really making a difference if you are not practicing organic gardening? Growing food in your own yard doesn’t make it any better for you if you are loading it up with chemicals.
You don’t have to use chemicals to keep your gardens pest free. Pick natural repelling plants to use as pest control. You do not need to rely on poisons! There are plenty of plants that repel these animals and pests that wreck havoc on the garden in a natural way. It takes very little effort and guess what?? No chemicals!
If you do have quite an infestation and need to start with a clean slate, you could always check out https://www.pestcontrolexperts.com/ to see what your least intrusive options are. Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do!
Got Weeds? Well just get out there with the kids and pull them! If you stay on top of it, it will only take a few minutes each day. Is that weed something you can eat? Look it up! Dandelions are a welcome weed in my yard!
Need Fertilizer? We raise chickens, goats and rabbits so we have all of the fertilizer that we need and it is completely organic! If you don’t have any of these wonderful poo creating critters, then try starting a compost bin. Or ask friend with some farm animals for some poo! You can also practice crop rotation to make sure that nutrients used by one plant can be replenished by another.
Even practicing a few of these things will help you to have a healthier for you (and our earth) garden!
