Opioid Dependence is a Scary Thing, Reset Reality!

12.04.2013 by Girl on Fire // 1 Comment

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Reckitt Benckiser Pharmaceuticals Inc. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

Opioid dependence is a growing problem.  It is a chronic disease affecting more and more Americans each year.  A lot of it happens because there are so many more people ill with auto immune diseases that cause them great pain.  They are written a prescription and they get very little relief, so they take more and more.  This can turn ugly very quickly.  People are judged as bad.  Labeled as having bad judgement and weak morals.  But you need to realize, this can happen to anyone.  It happens to the best people too.  It doesn’t take long for your body to acquire a chemical addiction.  It happens without you even being aware.  Opioid dependence, also known as opioidprescription painkiller and heroin addiction can happen to you.

Again, this is why I chose to skip the meds.  It’s just a temporary bandage for pain anyhow, not a cure.  You have to reset your reality and realize this is not necessary…addiction is not a good thing to bring into and have in your life.  Reset Reality is a public health initiative.  They are here to spread awareness and understanding to help you, your family and your friends if you are in this situation.  There is help! Opioid prescription painkiller addiction in the United States is not new, but it is growing.  Reset Reality can help you and your loved ones to step back, reflect and hit the reset button to create a new reality for your life.

ResetRealityBadge_Facebook_ProfileResetReality.com is full of resources to help those with opioid addiction.  There is even a symptom screener and help for finding a certified doctor that can help you with your addiction.  I have witnessed opioid addiction and I have witnessed heroin addiction.  You can get through it with support!

Reset Reality also has “Words of Reality”.  This is a great place to find and give support and read great words of inspiration.  I took the time to read through them.  Cheryl’s story stuck with me the most.  She is a mother…

Cheryl prided herself on being a loving, responsible and devoted mother. But the line between parent and child was blurred when she began sharing pills with her own son.

Addiction changes you, clouds your judgement…get help!  Can you imagine being so messed up that you are sharing this with your child?  Cheryl realized what was happening and that this was not who she wanted to be.  She fixed herself.  It’s possible.  This is a normal mom that was in a car accident.  She didn’t take the pills for fun, she took them for pain and look what happened…. I’m proud of people like Cheryl for choosing to Rest their Reality!

Please share this post.  You never know who it may help.  People need to know that this is consuming everyday normal people.  Mothers, fathers, grandparents, brothers, sisters and even our children are being pulled in.  Spread the word!

This is a reality for so many people. When my mom passed away she was addicted to prescription medications. She had a liver transplant 11 years prior & the meds were required but some of her usage got out of control. Its a sad thing and truly a disease unto of its own. Knowing that you may be addicted is one of the first steps to overcoming the addiction. Great post with good info. Thanks for sharing it!
