The cripple is in, I repeat, the cripple is in… YES! I moved up from an alternate in the Omron Fitness Challenge to an Ambassador! I need all of the support I can get. As a person with a debilitating disease such as R.S.D, this will be tough on me, but that is ok…I’m a tough girl.
As an ambassador in the Omron Fitness Challenge with Mamavation I plan on working my bootie off! I’m out there in front of all of you doing this, I have to do well. I will be receiving a strapless heart monitor sometime during this competition. I can’t wait! I will also be receiving a digital scale and pedometer. I should have those tomorrow and will update you!
If you have been here a long time, then you know all about my health struggles with R.S.D as well as that tumor, lovingly known as Spike. That tumor changed my life! If you don’t know my history you can browse around, or here is a quick rundown!
I have a neurological condition that is called R.S.D. It is an extremely painful disease that effects me in many ways. I am currently NOT taking medication for my condition and I recently joined Roller Derby training. This is pretty much unheard of with my condition. I also had a massive 10 1/2 lb tumor that was killing me removed 2 years ago. My tummy is now referred to as my Frankenbelly. The tumor surgery left me disfigured as well as without any sort of muscle tone. I am trying to change this the best that I can.
Before the tumor I had lost a lot of weight by switching to a Raw Foods way of eating. The weight was falling off and I was working out as well. Well, with the tumor I gained a lot of weight and I am just now to a place in my life, health wise, that I can begin to tackle the issues. This is why I am so excited about this challenge!!
Part of the challenge requires that I post a before photo….eeeeeek! I am the girl that stays behind the camera, not in front of it!! I gave my middle daughter Lauren my phone to snap a photo…it is what it is…it’s too much me, that is for sure!
I expect to see weightloss in my face first. I also am putting my starting measurements here as well so we can see what progress I make. This is very hard to do…
I do this in protest…
- Bust: 45.5
- Chest: 37.5
- Waist: 39
- Hips: 44
- Left Thigh: 22.5
- Right Thigh: 22.25
- Left Arm: 14.5
- Right Arm: 14.5
- Left Calf: 15
- Right Calf: 15

SO YAY! I am doing this! Watch for my updates here on the blog, facebook as well as twitter! You can follow the twitter conversation by using the hashtag #iheartOmron.

So glad to see you here — can’t wait to see you kick some booty!
I’m trying! This first week was rough. I had some sort of stomach bug and was very weak! I still lost weight and inches though.
WOOHOO!!! This will be awesome!!
Thanks JENN!! BTW, why are you not using that beautiful photo I took of you for your comment avatar??? hmmmmmmm??????
I subscribe to your blog and have been reading along for quite some time now. I couldn’t believe that you were doing roller derby, but WOW kudos to you for that. I am sure that will be gravy compared to this new journey that you are on.
Congrats for making it in ! I’ll be reading your updates and cheering you on.
Thank you so much Ronalee! I REFUSE to let RSD take my life away. I don’t want to be in a wheelchair…I don’t want to be on crazy meds such as Ketamine (an animal tranq!)
You can do this! One good thing, since the family loves all those nature walks/hikes, it will be easy and fun to lose those pounds and inches. I will hope for warm weather for you. I understand the cold, too painful to get out in. ugh! I am cheering you on 🙂
Thanks! I’m trying!!!!! The last few days have been pretty nice. I walked to the shelter to take photos, but wore Morgans shoes and tore up my ankle. Ouch!
Congratulations on your weight loss! That is one heck of a backstory, girl! You can totally do this, you’re kicking that RSD’s butt all over the place. Keep up the good work and I hope you have an awesome week!
Thanks!! I will try my hardest!!!!
