Neosporin Essentials for Eczema

02.20.2012 by Girl on Fire // 1 Comment

Both Lauren and Emma have Eczema.  It was worse when they were younger than it is now.  But both of them still have some “flare ups”, especially in the winter time.  Morgan has perfect skin and me?  Well I have super duper dry skin and sometimes it appears that I have Eczema as well.

No one knows the exact cause of eczema. According to Web MD it is thought to be linked to an overactive response by the body’s immune system to an irritant.  In my kids case it seems to be soaps, body and laundry.  Sometimes from just being in water too much like from too many baths.

We have done pretty well at keeping it under control and I do hope that they outgrow it one day.

I was sent a trial pack of Neosporin Essentials to try out on the girls.

It came just in time too!  Lauren has some patches on her back and below her knees so it was the perfect chance to try it out.

Inside the box was a Daily Body Wash, a Daily Moisturizing Cream and a tube of Anti-Itch Cream.  There were also some coupons inside!

The Daily Body Wash is very gentle.  It does not contain soap and has no fragrance!  The Daily Moisturizer is very gentle as well and has no fragrance.  It absorbs easily into the skin with no greasiness.  It helps relieve that dry skin itch and we noticed a difference pretty much right away.  The Anti-itch cream is also fragrance free!  This is a hydrocortisone cream. I am using this on the patch on Lauren’s back.  It is helping!  She had itched this and irritated it badly!

All products have the RELIPID™ Formulas, which contain a blend of lipid, humectant, emollient, and botanical ingredients that help retain moisture essential for healthy-looking skin!  They have clinically shown visibly healthier skin in just 3 days.

Overall I am happy with the products and will be purchasing them.  The Daily Body Wash is the one that I am going to be using on a regular basis for the girls at bath time.  The other products I will be keeping on hand for flare ups.

I wrote this review while participating in a campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Neosporin Essentials and received a product sample to facilitate my review, and a promotional item to thank me for participating.

Mel has eczema and I think Reece does too…and I have always been a Neosporin Fan, so I am glad they started working on Eczema too. I will have to check this out. Thanks Brandy for sharing.
