Four Natural Remedies for treating Veins

Four Natural Remedies for treating Veins

Spider veins are small, swollen blood vessels which can be easily seen under the skin. They have a web-like appearance of twisted, thin purple, or jagged red lines which usually appear on the inside of the legs, ankles, thighs and in some cases, even on the face. When the valves in these superficial veins are weakened, they are unable to push the blood flowing through them to the heart, causing it to flow backwards and subsequently accumulate in the veins. This results in the area becoming swollen and the veins turning blue, purple and red when the blood begins to stagnate in them. If you are suffering from spider veins, here are some home remedies which you could try to treat them.

Eat More Oranges

Eating oranges every day can help to improve your spider veins. The vitamin C which is present in oranges is crucial in the treatment of spider veins and is recommended by spider vein treatment specialists such as the NY Metropolitan Vein and Aesthetic Center. Vitamin C will strengthen the blood vessels and improve circulation, and it is also an excellent antioxidant, which helps to prevent the tissues from damage.

Castor Oil

Massaging the affected areas with castor oil daily can help to improve the appearance of spider veins as well as reduce any swelling or pain. Castor oil has a range of stimulating and anti-inflammatory properties, which help to stimulate the circulation of blood and increase blood flow to any blood-starved tissues. It can also prevent the blood from clotting in the veins and as a result, reduce swelling.

Eat More Guava

Along with eating more oranges, adding a healthy amount of guava to your diet can also improve the condition of spider veins. Guava is a fruit which is rich in vitamin C, which is essential for treatment of spider veins, and it also has high vitamin K content, which can improve blood flow to the tissues and prevent discoloration. Guava also contains lycopene; an antioxidant which protects cells and tissues from toxic damage. Increasing the amount of guavas in your diet will strengthen the capillaries and veins and help to improve blood flow.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is one of the most popular natural home remedies for treating spider veins. It improves the appearance of the veins by increasing blood circulation to the affected veins and reducing swelling. In order to use apple cider vinegar to treat spider veins, you should soak a clean cloth in the substance and apply it directly to the spider veins as a compress, without placing too much pressure on the area. You should keep the compress on for around half an hour. Repeating this process twice a day, every day for an extended period of time will significantly improve the appearance of your spider veins.

Spider veins aren’t just unsightly, they can also cause pain, discomfort, and itching. These home remedies are all easy and cheap to source, and could help you to seriously improve or even completely get rid of spider veins.
