Cobie Smulders Avengers Interview

You may know Cobie Smulders from the TV hit, “How I Met Your Mother” where she plays Robin Scherbatsky. She also used to be a model (gee…I wonder why? The chick is gorgeous!).  Here is my Cobie Smulders Avengers interview.

In The Avengers (her first break out role), she plays S.H.I.E.L.D Agent, Maria Hill.  This is a strong female character that I hope to see in more movies in the future.  I was a little sad that she didn’t play a bigger part in the movie.  We need these strong female characters.

One thing I can tell you besides the fact that she is gorgeous, is that she is so nice!   Very laid back and loves to laugh!  It felt like hanging out with another cool mom!

The first question that was asked was what was it like being one of the very few women in the movie?

Cobie answered…

It’s really cool that Marvel is bringing in these strong females.  And especially with Maria Hill, it’s really cool to see a strong female that’s in a commanding position.

Did you do special training for this?

Cobie says…

…the most important thing for me was getting comfortable around guns. Because I’ve kind of feared them my entire life and I’ve never shot a real gun. I’ve used prop guns on some sets and stuff. And, and I’ve also only even seen them,(prop guns)up until I did all this training.

Did it make you feel like a badass?

That’s what I thought was going to happen, especially with the gun, I thought that I would leave shooting range and be like, yeah, look at me. You know? I wasn’t more frightened, but I have so much more respect for them (guns), you know?

It was also like a terrifying kind of experience, where I left the shooting range…which was a small, like half the size of this room, and there was eight other people there, with like guns. And I was like, what’s happening. I don’t know any of you. I don’t know what’s going on with your life, I don’t know why you’re here. I don’t know why you feel the need to like come here, it was really quite terrifying. I left just respecting it and being aware of them.

Did you read comics when you were younger?

The only comics I really had were like Archie comics. And I was really obsessed with Archie comics.

When you found out you got the part did you do the happy dance?
Laughing, Cobie answered…

I’m Canadian, we don’t do happy dancing.
