My First REAL Massage! Massage Envy Spa in Corinth is OPEN!

08.07.2011 by Girl on Fire // 2 Comments

If you are a regular reader of my blog, then you know that I am sick and have been for a long time.  My diagnosis just came about recently though.  I’m in horrible pain every day.  Some days are much worse than others.

My good days used to be my “10 on the pain scale” days.  I didn’t realize pain this bad could exist.  My bad days are REAL bad.  Needless to say I am exploring all of my options health wise.  I want to feel better without relying on a ton of meds.  I take a lot already, but I have avoided pain pill use so far.  I’m to the point where I need them, but still will try anything that will help my not need them.

I’ve wanted to try professional massage for a long time, but I was afraid.  I was afraid that massage would hurt too bad.  I was also embarrassed.
IMAG1230 When I walked into Massage Envy Spa in Corinth I was instantly put at ease.  They were so nice!  My appointment was with Carrie and she talked to me and put me at ease.  I clicked with her immediately.  She even gave me a hug!

The atmosphere is wonderful! They gave me a cup of water and led me to a room where I could relax and fill out my paperwork.  The paperwork had a lot of questions that would make it easier for them to care for me.  I informed them of my RSD and how my pain works.
IMAG1223 Carrie took me to a room and explained to me what I needed to do and left me alone to get undressed and situated on the massage table.  Relaxing music was playing and I started to relax almost immediately from the atmosphere alone.

When Carrie returned I talked her ear off the entire time she massaged me.  It was the best hour I have experienced in a long time.  When she would get to a spot that was too painful for me to handle, I would tell her and she would ease off.  She really listened and I think she could also tell without me saying anything.

Afterwards I had so much energy!  Normally a trip out of my house drains me completely and I crash hard when I get home.  Not this day though!  I felt good!  I was still in pain, that burn just never goes away.  But, walking was easier!  My mood was different.  It was fantastic!

Needless to say I plan on continuing treatment by massage!  The massage I had was called a Swedish Massage.

Massage therapy benefits:

  • Relieves stress
  • Improves posture
  • Increases circulation
  • Lowers blood pressure
  • Alleviates tension-related headaches
  • Helps manage pain
  • Improves flexibility and range of motion
  • Alleviates discomfort during pregnancy
  • Strengthens the immune system
  • Enhances post-operative rehabilitation

This Massage Envy location in Corinth is different, it is a Massage Envy Spa!  They not only offer massages, but facials as well!  They use Murad products with the facials.  Murad products are designed to repair cell membranes while attracting water and nutrients to the cells.

Facial benefits:

  • Moisturizes the skin
  • Increases circulation
  • Decreases signs of aging
  • Improves skin tone and texture
  • Alleviates redness and sensitivity

Massage Envy Spa has an awesome wellness plan! It totally makes it affordable for someone like me!  You can get a membership for $59!  The $59 covers a one hour massage each month.  If you want a facial instead, then the difference is $10 more.  This is where it gets awesome…you can get additional massages (UNLIMITED) each month for only $39! Or again, add $10 to get a facial!  That is nearly 40% off the normal rates.

You can get an introductory 1 hour massage for $49!  Or add $10 and get a facial instead!  YOU DESERVE THIS! I regret not doing this sooner!

I LOVED my time at Massage Envy Spa in Corinth! I can’t wait to go back!

Disclosure:  I received a 1 hour massage to facilitate my review.  All opinions are my own and 100% honest!

Glad to hear you had a good experience there. I went recently with a troubled area in my back. The girl I got was too light to the touch and seemed to touch me everywhere but where I needed it despite my emphasis on where I needed it.

I did feel very relaxed afterwards and had it not been for the pain in my back it would have been a good experience. For general relaxation she get an ‘A’. For helping my issue, a ‘D-‘. Plus, I got cheated out of some of my hour.

The spa itself was very nice with friendly staff. There are tons of Massage Envy spas and several at each one. I guess it’s just a matter of finding the right person.
